Barn Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 The game between the two teams last night was postponed after 6 minutes due to crowd trouble, while we all know the Italian's (particularly their police) are scum and will beat anyone if there's no chance of getting some back, it seems that the trouble last night was largely the fault of the Serbian fans. What action if any do you think UEFA should take against the two nations?

I think both nations should be made to play a friendly against Millwall at the New Den, with the troublemakers forced to attend unarmed. Should put a stop to it!

bluegraham Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 i find it hard to believe that when a chelsea flag thrown onto the pitch after some disgraceful reffering againsts barca the club gets fined, but yet these european countrys and clubs seem to do what they want. England and Britian as a whole has made great strides to stop the lunatics which sometimes i tend to be lol. If you travel away with chelsea to any european ground you will see flares and hear bombs being lefted of how is this excepted by uefa as the rules clearly state no flares and other objects to that effect. i was at the charlton game when we got the premiershp throphy in 2005,it was the fist time in 50 years we won the top tier of english football and the stewards at the gates were taking flags of fans because they had sticks to wave the flags. i thought that was disgraceful then nexted season the club gives the fans flags on sticks. the rules seem to be unclear what you can and cant do inside a football ground.
Barry Bridges Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 The best way to punish the Serbians is to make them participate in their "pride parade" next year. They can then experience what it feels like for a fellow Serbian to throw dangerous projectiles at them. The Italians can be punished by giving me all their wine!
Plavi26 Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 This event annoys me greatly! Being from Serbian decent, and knowing the number of great footballers that came from either Serbia or any other Balkan nation, this destroys all the images of stability and ability to produce good footballers. The teams are now controlled by these organized groups that keep not only the teams ransom, but also the development of a good and secure league for young players to develop in. I hope the government takes drastic measures to fight organized crime within football and give some liberty back to the sport.
ace Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Well at least the 1.5 players from Serbia on our team weren't hurt. I heard about the game and was talking to my best mate (who is a Juve fan) and he said the same thing I thought "When I read the headline that the Italy match was suspended, I just naturally assumed that it was because the Italian fans were at fault."
MHL_blue Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Ban their supporters. A lot of the Balkan countries' terraces are also hurling racial abuse, so I'd say ban them until they prove they can behave. Monkey chants at black players and they only get a slap on the wrist from UEFA and a redicules fine. And now this and I'll be interested to see how the UEFA act now. The hypocrisy is that if this had been England fans, England would've been banned for the forth coming Euro's..
dkw Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 After watching the video I think both countries should be ashamed of how they acted. The Serbian fans were a disgrace but equally the Italian police were brutish and ridiculous in their actions, Serbain fans could have been killed by the way they reacted. Though its long been known Italian police dont exactly look after opposition fans, yet keep getting away with it. The silence from messr`s Platini and Blatter is deafening.
The Moos Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Apparently they didn't search anyone so the fans could carry dangerous objects and even weapons into the stadium. How f*cking wrong is that!?

MHL_blue Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 that was the point i was trying to make one rule for british teams and another for the rest I'm from Norway right, but I think UEFA has done this to England for years and I think they've done it to English clubs as well (Liverpool's 5th place CL entry aside). Remember 2 years back when UEFA didn't want two Enlish teams in the CL final for the second year running. I'm not to keen on conspiracy theories without strong evidence, but I very much doubt Platini would've had the same remarkes about two consecutive CL finals between Real Madrid and Barcelona. Fair enough England have had it's shares of football hooligans, France '98 comes to mind. But so have other nations and still have by the looks of it. However you will never get rid of football hooligans by punishing England and let all other nations off the hook.
Plavi26 Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Serbian clubs have been greatly punished in the past for these kind of actions. Partizan Belgrade was thrown out of European competitions for a similar incident against a bosnian club two years ago. The problem is, the Serbian FA can't really control these groups because of good connections, and they pretty much run the clubs in some perspective (top clubs I mean : Dinamo Zagreb (cro), Red Star, Partizan, Hajduk Split (cro - although the Split police goes down really hard on hooligans)). Honestly at this point, this goes beyond football, and if a major ban should apply, then be it.

dkw Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 And still no word from Statler and Waldorf, how strange. Anything happens in England and they are straight on it with an opinion, yet they are very quiet over this.

ace Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 UEFA has awarded Italy with a 3-0 victory after their Euro 2012 qualifier against Serbia was abandoned. Serbia will have to play their next two home games behind closed doors. Both teams were fined.
njegos Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Monkey chants at black players and they only get a slap on the wrist from UEFA and a redicules fine. These monkey chants are about a million times less offensive then the racism that is directed towards other ethnicities in the Balkans. We Serbs (like the rest of Eastern Europe) are 10x more racist against other Eastern European nations than we are against Blacks/Asians etc. Why would we hate them? Weve never had any form of contact with these people. They never did anything to us, and likewise weve never done anything at all them. The monkey chants and throwing of Bananas are definitly disgusting, but theyre in no way a form of racism. Theyre a form of extreme stupidy and distatesfulness. FIFA should crack down more on White v White racism because that is way more dangerous. The stuff that Polish and Russian (for example) fans would say to eachother in a game is way more racist, extremist and dangerous then anything that that fans of these nations would say to a black man. Likewise for an Ireland v England game. I can guarantee the stuff shouted in the stands at one of these games is worse then throwing a banana a Brazilian whos only been living in Europe for two years. Lets not stop there. In Africa, a game between Algeria and Egypt who are both of Arab stock but belong to different clans evokes far more extremism and racism than a Czech/Hungarian/Albanian doing a king kong impersonation. Same thing in Asia. You dont think the Japanese and the Chinese are shouting vile things about eachother during games? Or the Malaysians and Singaporeans. Racism should be stopped everywhere. But its impossible when there are all these double standards.
