I rate him. Not as much as say, Aguero or Pato...but I do think he has potential.

As a quick striker, who can play wider if necessary, he could be a good investment.

That said, I don't expect there to be much truth in the rumours.

Honestly, I haven't seen him play that much, but I haven't been too impressed when I have, and if Barca are prepared to let him go (and that's a big if) you'd have to wonder why.

Because the board wants big name strikers, just to save face against Madrid.

If Rjikaard was still at Barcelona Bojan would be leading the line alongside Messi.

He is only 20 years old and certainly knows how to score goals, should he get a good run in the barcelona team i think he would certainly be putting a fair few away. Would love him here but it will never happen

Since the source is goal.com I wont get my hopes too high but from what I have seen of him I would rate him higher than Sturridge and Borini. It may be interesting if we were to actually show some interest since he gets hardly any game time and with Drogba/ Anelka ageing he would know that if he were to perform he could have more of a chance making the first team. Though as of now I am treating this as just another from the rumour factory !!

No, the source is the Daily Mail... Goal.com do not have any reporters of their own, they just collect news stories from other websites.... admittedly the Daily Mail is less reputable, but that's not the point. Goal.com don't report the news, as much as just forward it on.

The point is why would we buy a player that Barca is selling? If he isn't good enough for Barca he can't be good enough for us. Unless there was a swap involved. From what I've seen of him he is good and has started for Barca and been on as a sub quite a bit. I seem to recall that he is another one of those strikers that can do everything except put the ball in the net when it counts.

Sometimes those guys grow into the role.

Andrea Pirlo wasn't good enough for Inter Milan. Alan Shearer wasn't good enough for Newcastle. Frank Lampard wasn't good enough for West Ham.

Furthermore it's not that Bojan isn't good enough for Barcelona. It's just that the club want marquee names in his position.

And this idea of being "too small" for the EPL is absolute crap. Ramires, McEachran etc prove that given time the only physical characteristic you need in the EPL is speed. Anything else is a bonus.

There's a big difference between a big club like Chelsea buying from the likes of West Ham or Man U buying from Porto and buying an equally big club's cast offs.

The only big name player we have successfully signed from a major club of equal stature was Makalele from Real when they were going through a bad phase. We sold Carvalho to Real but only because he is winding down. If and when we play Real in the CL, its their slightly soft defense that will be our best hope.

I don't agree that Barca just want marquee names. They want to win. If they thought Bojan could do the job they'd keep him.

Size does doesn't matter and yet it does. If we had a fast small striker our style would be a bunch different to when we play with Drogs. Not saying either one is the only way, but neither are they identical.

A strong physical striker gives you the option of Plan B, "rugby style up and under" if Plan A (use the midfield) isn't working.

Anelka was offloaded by Real Madrid awhile back. Sjneider was offloaded by Real Madrid to Inter. Desailly was offloaded to us by Milan. We got Vialli from Juventus. The list is endless. Failure or lack of chances in 1 large club (Desailly and Vialli are not included in that) does not automatically mean they are not a good player

Sneijder is a very good example. Esteban Cambiasso is another. Tevez and Adebayor to Manchester City. Eto'o to Inter. And these are all established players, not promising young players.

Barcelona and their fans may like to kid themselves that they are different to Real Madrid when it comes to transfers but their modus operandi is the same, albeit with a reduced transfer budget.

Besides, I don't actually think Barcelona want to let Krkic go, if they did, they would've at least loaned him out thise season given the emergence of Pedro Rodriguez and they blocked such a move to Valencia when Ibrahimovic was signed last season. It's Krkic himself who wants to leave.

Only recently I read how some Barca supporters were quite frustrated about Bojan. He seems to miss a lot of chances and wont ever make it as a "world-class" player.

Not saying that this says anything about his potential but his development as a player seems to stagnate

I think you have mixed up a bit to while drawing a parallel. In this case the best parallel would be the rock of Barca's defence Pique, deemed not good enough United and moved to Barca and went on to win everything that there is for a player to win. Now are you trying to tell me that Pique is not a good player? The way I see it is United did not guage Pique potential in the right manner and that might well be the case with Kirkic.

Honestly we don't really need bojan. He just isn't the kind of player we need, he's not made for the epl. We would be better off with another young striker like lukaku.
