Random Rumours

Not David Villa? Not exactly "that position" but this is random rumours after all. There've been a couple of stories going around that Barcelona might want to sell him in order to raise cash for Fabregas, which so the story goes, will put ourselves and Man City on the alert.

Villa might be available? Definitely go for that, him, Torres and Sturridge together would be an oustanding front 3.

3 pure strikers? Not sure how that works. Not with the rest of the team as it is anyway.

Villa can play LW and does so well, said he had no problems with it in the past, torres in the mid and Sturridge on the RW could actually work. Only doubt would be sturridge on the RW but as I said it could work!

As Andreas says, he plays wide left for Barcelona and could play in a similar system at Chelsea, with Studge playing wider right. It would also give us the opportunity to play 2 up front with Torres/Villa partnership.

The Villa rumour appeared on the BBC Sport gossip column this morning too. His record at the start of the season was brillaint but then he went on a bit of a barren run where I think he didn't score in about 12 games. Would be a good signing but I can't see it happening.

Apparently we've expressed an interest in Grzegorz Sandomierski, a 21 year old Polish keeper. Reports suggest however, that he's unlikely to "nub a switch to a club where he would be forced to perform back-up duties." Which, so the story goes, leaves the door open for Swansea to make a move.

I love the logic but isn't Villa sort of wasted wide simply because they have the best player in the world to put in the centre? He's also not on the young side, meaning we'd be looking at replacing him sooner rather than later.

We could go for Aguero who can fit in there (he's able to play in any forward position) and it seems like Juventus are the only club putting money on the table for him at the moment. If we're to assume that he will not go to Real as was his promise, I'd be pretty confident in a signature battle between us and Juventus while everyone else is busying fighting over Sanchez. :P

I do think he is wasted wide left, I was just wondering aloud about how they might play him, Torres and Studge together. And thats without Drogba being thrown into the mix.

I remember someone on here mentioning that Thiago fella playing or Spain under 21`s, well some reporter must be reading this thread as he has been linked today.

Read somewhere that he was going to be a makeweight as part of a deal to take Fabregas to Barca - was only a matter of time before they decided we were trying to buy him

He does not play wide left though. Sure, he starts from the left but drifts towards the centre, kinda like Henry did time to time. I would say he fits perfectly to Barca's system which does not use a classic centre forward. Ibrahimovic may have scored more, but Barca as a team is better with Villa.

Edit:

Maybe I should have read back a bit more :)

I can't really imagine him in Chelsea. I don't think the Barca method is the way to go in England. I'd much rather see more width.

Anyway, this would probably mean the end for both Drogba and Malouda, and I do not expect huge changes this summer.

He's not bad, the main reason QPR got promoted in my view. But his attitude his horrid. Kalou was out yesterday saying we needed solid personalities not prima donnas, people who sulk upset the team dynamic. (I thought this might be a shot at Torres) Anyway I agree with Kalou and Taarabt is absolutely in that category.

Reports on twitter suggesting chelsea have made contact with barcelona to buy thiago. I seen him in under 21's looked verygood. If he leaves will mean barca will defiantly get cesc.

That would be good for two reasons - Arsenal lose Cesc and we get his natural replacement.

Apparently we have signed some young Danish prodigy according to FIFA commentary last night. They said that Dominik Masek will join Chelsea after the Under-17 World Cup. Anyone know anything about him?

I've seen this rumour touted in several different sites, but I can't see anything in it. Also, never thought I would say there's a time where I'd rather Villa not come and play for us. I still rate him, but seeing as how Torres and Drogba are staying (likely) I just don't see the need.

If they want to fund their Fabregas purchase though, Thiago Alacantra is obviously worth looking at. ::ChElSeaFLag::

Don't think we'd be interested in him given the fee, his wages and the age factor. Since Barcelona are looking to sell it may be worth enquiring about Seydou Keita, he should strengthen our midfield considerably.

If this is true, then it's one more reason to despise Barcelona. According to this article on Vital Football which in turn references the Spanish newspaper "Sport", Barçalona President Sandro Rossell met Luiz's agent to communicate Barça`s interest in the player, a meeting that took place without any permission from Chelsea:

Barça tapping up David Luiz
