Has anyone ever been to a rival London team and sat in the home end? I did it in the 02/03 season at Upton Park and I have to say I've never been so scared in my life. It was West Ham v Chelsea and if we had beaten them or drawn we'd have relegated them. As much as I was disappointed we lost the game, part of me was also relieved. I hate West Ham with a passion, but I'm a coward, I wasn't gonna risk getting chucked out and a beating from about 70/80 Pikey's around me, it was Lamps 2nd time back at Upton Park since the move and in the last minute he nearly scored and I almost jumped up in excitement.

I remember a mixed feeling of relief and depression because our cover wasn't blown but at the same time I honestly thought that defeat ended our hopes of qualifying for the CL. Thank God for Man City and Anelka who beat the dippers on the same day though ::ChElSeaFLag::

Often sat in the away end at Fulham at their ground & loftus rd.

We were sat around their fans saying how excited they were to see Crespo, Veron, etc when they were at Loftus Road. Crespo scored a good winner.

A few season back some caravan'esc mum got upset because she realised someone else near me was Chelsea, but nothing happened, I sat in the Hammersmith end when Robben took them apart & unfortunatly was sat with Foolham supporting friends when they beat us 1-0 & invaded the pitch (that really was their cup final).

Was in Barcelona seats when we first played them in champs league, was sat a few rows along from David Mellor, so don't think its where the nutters were. We were cheering our goals, although when they thumped in extra time they were all laughing away.

Also been in away end for Norwich, QPR, Spurs, & Arsenal, but that was when I was a kid with my dad.

Hmm... I can remember going to Old Trafford in the early '70s and being separated from the special. I was up the Scoreboard End (all terracing back then) but in the middle of Cockney Reds and other undesirables. So there was I, in the middle of 100s of the bar stewards, having no option but to go along with the crowd surges (no I didn't sing) and keep my mouth shut. If I was neutral I might actually have enjoyed it. And then we scored... cue deathly silence and chants of "you're gonna get your f**king heads kicked in" thankfully not aimed at me. And then we scored again. 2-0 up at Old Trafford with only minutes to go. Over the moon inside feeling confident that I hadn't been sussed. So I sneaked out a little early along with 100s of the undesirables who were out for Chelsea blood.

Got back to Manchester Piccadilly safely enough but had a nasty shock all the same. Reason being: final score: 2-2.

Two words for anyone tempted to pipe up with "but that was up in Manchester not in London": Cockney Reds

I don't remember ever standing or sitting with West Ham, Arsenal or Tottenham, but there was one time we were in one of the Tottenham ends (sorry I could never keep up with which was their main end for any given season) separated from their main mob by the customary line of Old Bill. I was with the Chelsea but on the edge of the Tottenham were a couple of blokes I knew from Wandsworth, looking very sheepish, applauding politely and no doubt hoping to Christ we didn't score!

Tottenham, Arsenal, Fulham, Man Utd, Liverpool, England (v Scotland), Coventry, Villa

Probably quite a few more but can't recall

Oh yeah - AND LEICESTER

Never in London but I've been in the home fans sections when we got beat by Man u 1-0 back in 05 and when we beat City 1-0 in 07 (I think), was just crap cause I couldn't celebrate but at United we didn't score so didn't matter. Also have to say both United and City fans were alright after the games aswell.

Never been to any in London but been to plenty elsewhere. Bolton, Sunderland, Blackburn, Wigan etc are all games you could get tickets for fairly easily. Been to OT and Anfailed a few times too in the wrong end, scariest I was in was in the leeds end at their sh*thole. My dad actually shouted "have that you fat yorkshire twat" when some Leeds player got smashed. I though we were gonna die.

Sunderland. I'm sure the locals were more afraid of me than I of them :D

We went to their new ground to watch us, coldest place on earth.

jesus what happened after that? did you just get evils?

I've been to alot of Leeds games I'm from Leeds and its down the road so sometimes I go to a few games and Elland Road is a sh*thole I have to admit. I went to the last game lasts eason when leeds got promoted and when Leeds went a goal down and Gradel got sent off it was very hostile I thought f**k its gonna kick off, I went for a slash and as I went down there were Leeds fans at the bar screaming racist remarks at Gradel and I was s**t scared. Thankfully though they came back and won and I haven't been back since.

We got chucked out by some stewards, thankfully. Took a few digs on the way out, I could have battered my Dad the daft sod.

Haha I bet the adrenaline was pumping :P

Something was pumping....I was bricking it.

If you mean any part of the away ground except the away end, but not necesarilly the home end as such, plenty of times, you gotta mingle, Coventry, Cardiff, Forest, Villa, and plenty more I cant remember.

I took the question to mean actually sitting or standing with opposition fans. If you extend it to mean being in their end, then you're talking about God knows how many, from Millwall to Tottenham to Arsenal to Derby, Coventry, both Bristol teams, both Nottingham teams, Wolves, Plymouth, Norwich, Ipswich, Rotherham, and another couple of dozen at least (and Leicester).

Oh and before I forget: During the 1973 FA Cup Final, I was in the Leeds end for the first half (and I was truly fortunate to get out of there in one piece) and in the Sunderland for the second half to see Ian Porterfield score the goal that won the FA Cup. Which didn't exactly make up for missing the 1970 FA Cup Final, or seeing us lose to Stoke in the 1972 League Cup Final, but was still pretty damned good watching Leeds lose at Wembley.

You and me both, mate. Plus Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Man.City, Blackpool, Birmingham, Aston Villa, WBA, Sheff.Utd, QPR, Fulham, C.Palace, Brighton, Southampton, Portsmouth, Bolton, Coventry, Stoke - I'm sure there were quite a few more, I just can't remember them all.

Arsenal, Palace, QPR, Burnley, Man Utd end (posh seats) 94 cup final (couldnt contain myself when Peacock hit the bar and was lucky to stay in the ground when the red mist descended in the 2nd half!) Portsmouth (got a meat pie land on my head) Barcelona and my favorite in the Shelf seats when we won 3-0 League Cup replay.

Got escorted out "for my own safety" when we went 2-0 up.

All much safer than the south bank upton Park on my first visit in 1978!

Was sat in the tottenham members enclosure when we won 6-1 flo hat trick, my friend who is a spurs fan hated me for making him stay to the end, not v scarey as they all left early!

My 1st and only european away game was Monaco, was very nervous as chelsea had told fans they wouldn't get into the ground unless they were locals but every stand had pockets of chelsea fans in colours! Got a friendly ribbing from Monaco fans sitting around us and generally had an awful night

You're right, there were loads more. Preston, Carlisle, Blackburn, Oldham, Oxford, Cambridge and so on and so on.

Like many of the above...i have been in many a home end....just to pick one , man citys kippax....we pulled a couple of manx girls ( 1970s )...and coz we really liked em went with them into the kippax....unfortunately they didnt mention that their ex boyfriends would be in their.....we were threatened....we got scared.....so we decided to go out the best way we could...we ran on the pitch..jumped around like loonies.n got thrown out...we lived tho

I never enjoy sitting amongst away fans as you have to sit on your hands but I did on one occassion some 15 years ago. We played Liverpool at the bridge early January (could have been a cup game) and the only tickets I could get were in the Liverpool section which in those days was East Lower next to the Shed. We won and the camera panned along a line of these miserable hacked of scousers and came to me with a big grin on my face.
