January 19, 20206 yr Our first ever manager. Player/Manager when he was at Glasgow Rangers. The bottom picture looks like a Scotland jersey. In the Lord Rosebury colours. The 5th Earl Rosebery was a patron of the game and Hon. President of the SFA and of Hearts F.C. His colours were first worn in 1881, and then in 1900, 1901, 1905, 1906, 1907, 1908 and 1909. Our scorers: McKenzie 15, Osgood 75, Walker 79 mns A crowd of 31,876 braved the conditions to watch it. I recall him addressing angry fans at an away fixture by the players coach. The fans were angry about the Cundy sale and he said something along the lines of, 'I can't tell you now yet you will realise in a couple of years why we sold Cundy.' Didn't recall he was a Scot and see he has passed in 2007 from colon cancer at age of 61, too young - RIP Ian Porterfield.

January 21, 20206 yr Saturday, 21st Jan 1978 We beat Ipswich Town 5-3 at The Bridge. Our goal scorers :Swain 27 and 61, Finnieston 74, Wicks 83, Langley 90 A very good win against the team who deservedly won the FA Cup that year, A crowd of 26,044 saw it.
