John Rinkel of G.B. passes the baton to teammate  Leigh-Wood while  Taylor passes the baton to Barbuti.

This was during a meet between the U.S. and British Olympic relay teams at Stamford Bridge, England 20th Aug 1928.

The U.S. team won the relay, setting the one-mile mark of 3 minutes, 13 2/5 seconds.

Not sure when this photo was taken. Unless my eyes are playing tricks I can't see the Oswald Stoll Mansions which were opened in 1916. So between 1905 and 1916.

We had around 15,000 there, Palace were averaging 5,000 and it was Officially around 19,000 although I would say more were there. I was in the seats which was brilliant and the sight of the terrace was brilliant, just like the bit you can see in the pictures above

Remember Palace chairman Ron Noades at the time saying we had 15k there.
