Cardiff away on 31st March 1984.

We came back to draw 3-3 from being 3-0 down after 25 mins.

It was still 3-0 until King Kerry scored in the 84th min.Colin Lee made it 3-2 a minute later.

Nigel Spackman scored our equaliser from the penalty spot in the 90th min.

And there was a ‘wee bit of a disagreement’ on the terraces…

The only match I have watched from 3 different sides of the ground in 90 minutes …

BUT it's come back as " age restricted" !!

Just put it on

Have you watched the three videos of the game on YouTube? Can see Chelsea fans moving down the side of the pitch and then behind the goal of the home end

Hickey in his monkey suit….. bit later we went there. At half time a few ground staff came out at half time, raking the pitch. Mostly black or mixed race from memory.

“ They’re planting coconuts they’re planting coconuts…”

Poor taste by today’s standards, but wasn’t sung with any malice. Different era. Oh and we got ambushed by West Ham and Mile End coming back

In Bridge News, Bates’s in house propaganda rag, that was sent in the post to members, there was a feature with Terry Venables, who mentioned the interest in that game. That’s when we weee your proverbial “ Sleeping Giants”

When we got promoted with Newcastle and Sheffield Wednesdays in 84, all three of us kinda fell under the same label

Bit off topic. You mentioned getting the bus from Brixton to the Bridge back in the day. Was Brixton mostly Brixton or Millwall? My brother in laws Mike C, who wrote our Cup Final Song Blue Dsy, was from Brixton Hill, as were many others. Also know of lads from the same era, perhaps more North Brixton and Coldharbour Lane direction that were Millwall. Stockwell was staunch Chelsea, Streatham fairly Chelsea with also a lot of Palace I’m told. Fascinating the tribal dynamic back in the day, no doubt influenced by transport links and relative fashionability of clubs at the time

I lived on Loughborough Estate near to Coldharbour Lane Nearly all Chelsea with a few Millwall mate. Knew the Stockwell lot, lot of the estate went to Stockwell Manor school.
