A couple of pics from the Oldham game  when we thought we had been promoted (79/80). My first wife (no longer with us) took these, she took a great one of The Shed End in full swing that day, i've put it away somewhere safe, so safe even i cant find it but when i do i will get it on here.The banner in the East  stand read Congratulations On Promotion, that was before the Sunderland West Ham game, i always wondered if the people who made it kept it until we did get back up?

 

I went to Cardiff on a few occasions, one was a night game in the league cup went on inter city the game went to extra time if i remember rightly, our escort out of the ground was infiltrated by taffs then most of the Chelsea turned right to get the special so we was left about 30/40 handed to make it all the way to the main station, it kicked off most of the way! then we boarded a train that was only going as far as Bristol we got battered by the Cardiff mob on the train by the time we got off at Bristol we looked a pretty sorry state claret all over and black eyes, then to make things worst we had missed the last train back to London and ended up sleeping on the platform till the mail train turned up at 5am LOL, once the bruises etc had gone down it was all worth it and i wudnt change it for the world, Happy Days.

I know 100% for a fact that c**t from Middlesbrough on ebay is selling those pics & has put his own watermark on them, no doubt he nicked the original pics from here, utter slag.

Just looking at the two pictures above got me thinking of how people would react these days if something like that happened on any weekend at any Premier League Stadium.

I got nicked for drunk and disorderly at this game, got fined a tenner!

Not one to get involved by any stretch of the imagination, went more for a laugh than anything, but of course trouble found you on occasions. I remember having to get proper stuck in on the South Bank at West Ham in 81 and fighting our way out of the New Derby at Sunderland.

I'm from Wembley and used to drink in The Preston with loads of Chelsea, some proper Gooners and a few y*ds. Used to drink in The Adelaide before games and went home from 1963 onwards (with my Dad) and then with my mates from 78 home and away. I was a reasonable player and used to play most Saturdays until 78, though went to all the games I could, including the pitch invasion at Luton in 74?

Have a good memory and loads of stories but more to do with a good day out than major fighting.
