April 2, 201511 yr Author Ive put pics of Pompey fans at ours that day earlier in the thread, it shows them looking across at the benches with our young casuals fronting them in the benches, also there's a pic showing a certain CFC author & doco star running acorss the track with some others, there's also a pic of Pompey's 657 firm at Fulham Broadway. I dont know why it happened but its def from the Pompey 83/84 game.
April 2, 201511 yr I think if memory is correct, went to Highbury for a 3pm game against wspam. From the first minute the North Bank didn't know what at hit it. Smoke bomb went off as did a firm at the top of the terrace and ran the gooners time after time. The view from the clock end was unbelievable. Lot of Chelsea at the game also.
April 2, 201511 yr Hmmm, I was at the game early, watching from the Shed and don't recall this? Don't remember it either. I must have got in late that day. I remember us all chanting "Waterloo" from the West Stand and the OB then took them down to Wimbldon after.
April 5, 201511 yr Not sure on the game or season but quality pics none the less.. did you take these pictures in the seats above the benches carshalton?
April 5, 201511 yr Author did you take these pictures in the seats above the benches carshalton? Thats where there taken from i think mate but i didnt take them, i got them from elsewhere.
April 5, 201511 yr What's going on there then? Portsmouth ran at benches in front of the fenced off bit and Chelsea came out of gate 13 across the pitch. This is before the kick off
April 5, 201511 yr Not sure on the game or season, but quality pics none the less. This could be Sunderland milk cup final. Chelsea packed the first section the next half a section was empty and Sunderlnad had other 2/5 sections. This looks like Chelsea looking across at the other teams fans. Has to be 82/83 onwards blue crush barriers. 82/83 and 83/84 Chelsea never packed that first section like that for any game so i think it could be the 84/85 season
April 5, 201511 yr Brilliant CB. Absolutely brilliant. I had that t-shirt. Remember wearing it to college, loud and proud. Didn't have a ruby stain on mine though.
April 7, 201511 yr Author Chelsea v Sunderland Milk Cup Semi final 2nd leg, 1985 Chelsea fan trying to get at Clive Walker(Sland) to give him a slap.
April 7, 201511 yr Author These are better than porn to me haha. Chelsea v Man Utd 1984/85, Chelsea in the first two pens Utd on the far right.
April 7, 201511 yr Author Chelsea v Man Utd 84/85, Chelsea in the first two sections, Utd on the far right.
April 7, 201511 yr Author Chelsea v Man U 84/85 Chelsea in the 1st 2 pens Utd on the far right, looks like its going off in the middle section.
April 7, 201511 yr that fella who tried to lamp flasher if my memory is right was a trainee solicitor called LB? became a bit of a folk hero for a while and the national press(scum of the earth) loved the fact he had a 'proper job'.
April 8, 201511 yr I've just found this (below) posted on the net ... maybe this gives us a clue as to why Chelsea were on the pitch ??? If Pompey did 'play up' inside Stamford Bridge it must have been very early on when there was guaranteed zero/minimal resistance around because when we entered the Shed we weren't impressed with their turnout, at all (considering the short journey up from the South coast). I also totally disagree with the observation below that the North stand was awash with them. In fact, the whole day, in and around the ground, intimidating atmosphere wise was comparable to a Southampton home game ... full stop. "We needed a good one to stay in the promotion chase. After a Boxing Day win at Shrewsbury, I got up early the next day and caught the train south for an 11.30 morning kick off. The game was a 2-2 draw, but I remember it better for a couple of things. At Earls Court a mob of Portsmouth were chasing and getting the better of the very few Chelsea that were about. I can recall some Portsmouth lad all in Pink being…”very active”…. This went on until the cavalry arrived in the form of a tube from Victoria. Mr Pink then got active on his heels. With it being an early kick off, drinking time was very restricted. We headed up to the Nell Gwynne, as it was nearer the ground than our ‘local’ the Kings Head. It seemed that just about everyone else had the same idea, for there were loads standing outside. In the bar, Jim ordered 8 lagers (2 each!) and 1 bitter. The barmaid poured the 8, and said “Bitters up the other end – I’ll be back in a minute” At that point we picked up the Lagers and casually walked outside and drunk them! What she must have thought when she came back, I don’t know! Portsmouth bought a fair few with them, the North Stand was awash with them. The usual trouble erupted, and Plod piled in to deal with it. They began dragging out the Portsmouth trouble makers, and one of the first out was….Mr Pink! He stood out a mile in his Pink jeans and Pink Pringle jumper, there was nowhere he was going to hide from Plod. …Who’s the w**ker in the pink, who’s the w**ker in the pink…" I've just found this (below) posted on the net ... maybe this gives us a clue as to why Chelsea were on the pitch ??? He stood out a mile in his Pink jeans and Pink Pringle jumper, there was nowhere he was going to hide from Plod. …Who’s the w**ker in the pink, who’s the w**ker in the pink…" Portsmouth packed the 2 middle sections so had about 4,500. Portsmouth had a big mob at Chelsea that day. Some got the tube some walked from Waterloo. When my train got into Earls court was a mob of Portsmouth on the platform. They were in the first 3 carridges of the tube i was on. At Fulham Broadway they opened each carridge one by one. Portsmouth was escorted to the ground. Before kickoff as Portsmouth were coming in they ran down in front of the fenced off bit to where Chelsea were in the benches. Loads of Chelsea in the west seats rushwed to the front as well. There are pics on the net of Portsmouth in the North terrace. Because of this they was all rammed into the middle 2 sections when they should really have been allowed into 3 sections. I got in the east upper near the kick off and see some Chelsea run from gate 13 to the benches. But Portsmouth running to wards the benches and that Chelsea mob behind the goal happened before i was in the ground. Afterwards though i didnt see it i know it was going off.
April 8, 201511 yr Not sure on the game or season, but quality pics none the less. Chelsea Sunderland milk cup semi final 85. Chelsea section north terrace looking across at Sunderland.
April 9, 201511 yr Those pic's Carshalton think they are from the Charlton game we had to win to avoid the play off's 87/88? Think I can see someone I know , we couldn't get in the shed as it was full so ended up in the north stand then escorted to the benches Edited April 9, 201511 yr by Tea Bar Boy
