new emblem was finally completed in 1953. Standing on its hind legs, the blue lion was taken from the family crest of the then-club head, Earl Cadogan. The lion holds a staff—the same as the Westminster Abbot’s. Three red Lancaster roses symbolize England, and two footballs represent a dedication to football. The blue ring around the animal represents the Chelsea London borough’s coat of arms.Chelsea-Logo-1953-1986-700x394.pngCadogan-Irish-Crest-2020114485.jpg

Above is the Earl of Cadogan Irish crest. . They must have a crest with the lion looking to his left as well ? The badge is beautiful.

So we're Lancastrians, not Yorkists? Good, I've always had a soft spot for Margaret Beaufort and Margaret of Anjou 😀

Can we have a couple of white roses in memory of Richard III and his father, Richard, Duke of York? Football meets 15th Century England. A fine combination.

Never thought I’d see a combination of favourite retro strips and 15th Century English history on this thread!😀

Why should I be surprised?😀😀
