The Mears ownership 1970 Stamford Bridge redevelopment plan. The East Stand was the first and only part to be developed before the club almost went bankrupt.

Would have been a terrific stadium with a 60,000 capacity. If you look under the seats if you are in the East Stand, there are empty holes. Apparently this was supposed to be where warm air was to be pumped out of to keep fans warm !

It was played at 3pm on Wednesday 13th March 1974. Due to the Economic Conditions of the time.
