There certainly looks a bigger crowd than that inside Hampden that night,if that photo is anything to go by.

 From bounder friardale's great site.  It was a 1-1 draw, with Terry Venabales scoring our goal. In front of 34,067.

 Was John Boyle our first ever used substitute ?

Checking bounder friardale site, it shows him being used as a sub for George Graham in the 80th minute v Fulham on Sat 28th Aug 1965 . We won 3-0.

It was an amazing away support we had that day.
