August 26, 201213 yr That was the place with the huge dance floor that change it's name to Tiffanys wasn't it? That's the one, massive dance floor. Became Tiffany's, and later on, Cinderella Rockerfella's. Me and my mates also used to go to the Croydon Suite, Scamps in Sutton, Tiffany's in Wimbledon, and occasionally the Eclipse in Chipstead. We couldn't the music, but disco's were the only places we could get late drinks in legally back then.

Never heard of the Eclipse but had many a drunken late night in all the others you've mentioned, remember an epic battle at Scamps with the bouncers and all the older lot from the Arms after one of the St H lads got a slap from the doormen, the Suite at Croydon is the one that later became Cinatras if I remember correctly and used to have a Saturday morning disco for the pre and early teens, stomping along to Gary Glitter, Slade, Suzi Quatro and Sweet.

A couple of blokes from our school were bouncers at Scamps at one point. And I remember a similar battle at the Suite (or Cinatras) between bouncers and a mob from Mitcham. Ahh, the good ol' days! And who can forget the twice weekly disco's at the Arms???
August 29, 201213 yr Author I may have put this up before earlier in the thread, but here it is anyway.

August 30, 201213 yr They usually lasted two or three weeks before giving up. Or teams got lost (they fell out and my old dear hoovered them up !)
August 31, 201213 yr Shoot magazine, that brings back memories - I always bought Shoot and Goal. What about Roy of the Rovers?I must admit Melchester Rovers were my second team, not that i'm a glory hunter.
September 1, 201213 yr Not sure if any of these have been posted before, apologies if they have. A nice panoramic shot of the bridge. A few shots of the old bill, sorry about the watermarks. Terrace fashion. A lofty view. Fans make their feelings known. The lush green Highbury pitch, a thin black line of rozzers, and the clock end bursting at the seams with Chelsea. Love it. Our pitch has frequently been anything other than lush and green! Ladies, step forward! Different generations receiving the adoration of the fans. The monolithic east stand, well ahead of its time. The view from the top isn't half bad. Sexton for God. Naturally. Stamford Bridge moonlighting (quite literally) as a cricket venue. Speaking of moonlighting, the old dog kennels behind the rather awkward looking old north stand. Who needs (or wants) symmetry at a football ground! Men and women take in a bit of postwar action.
September 1, 201213 yr Old bill watching on, powerless to steam the tide of a pitch invasion. The shed. The Sillett brothers. Some black and white shots of the shed. Ken surveying his handiwork after demolishing the most cherished part of the ground. Welcomes to the house of fun... The old club offices (?) Could someone help me out with a couple of questions? I've always wondered, where exactly were they located, and when did they come down? Leave our shed alone! No doubt posted before, undoubtedly my favourite picture of the shed. The majesty of Wembley. Whoever decided to tear it down deserves a good seeing to.

September 1, 201213 yr Used to love reading Shoot Magazines when I was younger. Always enjoyed getting the league tables at start of the season. Me too, those league tables were great! When I got bored with updating them every week I'd use them for my Subbuteo league
September 1, 201213 yr Great pics mate Thanks pal, you wouldn't happen to know the answer to my question though, would you? The old club offices (?) Could someone help me out with a couple of questions? I've always wondered, where exactly were they located, and when did they come down?
September 1, 201213 yr Some superb pics there mate! This one looks like it's the Leeds game in 83/84, I'm standing just to the left of the left goalpost arguing with a copper about not being allowed to steam into the Leeds fans. This pic was taken from the North Stand end, and it must have been just before the SPG came onto the terraces and beat the crap out of the Leeds. Great day!
September 1, 201213 yr As you walked into the main entrance of Stamford Bridge, the turnstiles to the Shed were on the left, and the club offices were on the right. If you walked past them you came to the East Stand. Not sure when they were demolished though, but it was a shame, they were pretty iconic with the ivy covered wall.

September 1, 201213 yr Me too, those league tables were great! When I got bored with updating them every week I'd use them for my Subbuteo league What a great game subbuteo was, I had the world cup addition from 1970 and painted Italy's shorts so they could be Chelsea. Peter Houseman was slanted owing to me kneeling on him and having to stick him back together with airfix glue. Great pics from all thanks.

Peter Houseman was slanted owing to me kneeling on him and having to stick him back together with airfix glue. Great pics from all thanks. Yeah, I spent many happy hours playing subbuteo. I had the original game first, Everton & Man.Utd kits, so I got the paint out and Everton became Chelsea, and Man.U became Leeds. I bought a few other teams later on, Wolves, Newcastle, Man.City, Huddersfield (just liked their kit). Bryan 'Pop' Robson of Newcastle suffered exactly the same injury and repair as your Peter Houseman, and ended up quite a bit shorter than his teammates, lol.
