Sunday, 25th March 1990  at Wembley Stadium  30th Anniversary today !

Where did all those years go ?

We beat Middlesboro 1-0 in the Zenith Data Cup Final.

A crowd of 76,369 saw it.

Our scorer: Tony Dorigo in the 25th min,

This trophy meant a lot to me back then.

Incidentally

Our Zenith Data Cup Final game at Wembley. attracted a bigger crowd of 76,369 than the same season’s League Cup Final !

That game between Nottingham Forest and Oldham Athletic in April 1990 attracted a crowd of 74,343.

I've posted this elsewhere but thought I would post here as well as Chelsea is mentioned. It is an article about the use of the white ball and shirt numbers. An informative article with some interesting arguments and comments about the proposed changes.

No problem. Glad to have helped.

I just like researching and finding reports, pics, footage etc from our history.

Agree, it's great what information can be found about our great club and football in general. It's great to find out how Chelsea and football in general have developed over the last 150 years or so.

As someone who loves all types of history I love finding out what has gone before.

You're welcome mate. If I could go back in time and be at two games, one would be the 1970 FA Cup Final Replay. The other would be the match against Moscow Dynamo. So much history with that game and others in the tour the Soviets made in 1945.

In the same tour, Moscow Dynamo played Rangers. Here's a picture of the Main Stand at Ibrox. It's probable that some of my relations were at Ibrox that day.

No photo description available.

"The other would be the match against Moscow Dynamo."

If you achieve your time travel dream Boyne, it may be a good idea to buy a seat as soon as they go on sale, unless you're Mickey Droy size.

Very true. Or climb up to the roof of the Shed. I wonder if the stewards or police tried to stop people climbing on the roofs of the Shed and East Stand or realised that it was a waste of time. Probably gave them a hand in climbing up!

Great picture. Just had a thought. Later this year will be the 75th anniversary of the game and I wonder if the two clubs could mark the event. by planning a match. When the game is played would be for debate given the current state of football and next season's competitions.

Boyne:Similar to your photo of the Dynamo Moscow 1945 game at Ibrox

Supporters climbing and hanging onto any vantage point they could get in the Main Stand for the famous game.

Only difference was nobody could climb onto the roof of the Ibrox Main Stand for that game.

Some great pictures of our famous 1945 game.

I'll need to ask my Uncle next time I talk to him, if he was at the Ibrox, Nov 1945 game.

It would be great to know what he remembers of the game if he was there.
