AC Oddessy is only £15 on PS store. I’ve heard good things about it but the newer AC games dont quite take my fancy. Anyone rate it?

I think I’ve waxed lyrical about Odyssey before on this thread but yes, I rate it very highly. It’s a steal at £15 too. If you do get it, play as Kassandra, not Alexios. 

It’s a sprawling, beautiful game, Ancient Greece is a vibrant playground. Sun-kissed beaches, islands, coves, shipwrecks to explore.

I caved in and bought it. Only done a couple of intro missions so far. Gameplay isn’t as smooth compared to Ghost of Tsushima but seems like a solid game. Will keep me going over Christmas. 
 

Though I did pick Alexios but kind of regret it now. Don’t suppose you can change character now

It might come across as unrefined compared to Ghost but it will keep you busy over Christmas certainly!

Kassandra is preferred mainly because her voice acting is better. You’re stuck with him now! 

I'm into online games right now. Like to play Clash of Clans. Also I still enjoy League of Legends it is one of my fav games. Luckily I found how to   and protect my privacy while playing. I think it's a must have tool for any gamer today.

Yeah definitely unrefined is the word. That makes it sound Cyberpunk like but it’s obviously not. In someways, it shows how underrated Ghost is. 

@Blueblur Gotta say, I’m enjoying AC Oddessy so far. I’m only one the first island but it seems varied and vast. Fighting could be abit more refined as it feels like button bashing but on the whole, exploring seems great.

Glad to hear it! You’ll enjoy it the more you play it, it really opens up. Combat gets better when you unlock more abilities. And then you have the Cult of Cosmos stuff which makes it quite challenging when you are being actively hunted. I ended up with more than 110 hours logged.

I’ve already done 40hrs on Valhalla. Exploring England is a bit bleak compared to sunny Greece though, I miss those sunny isles

I got Immortals: Fenyx Rising for my Switch and am pleasantly surprised. It’s made by the same Ubisoft team who made AC: Odyssey. 
Having fun soaring around the map like a Greek God and solving lots of puzzles. 

So I've finally bought a Switch that came with Mario Kart 8 and it has been a blast. Also just started the new Mystery Dungeon remake and it looks promising so far.

Is anyone a fan of the Monster Hunter series? I'm looking forward to the upcoming MH Rise.

Still ploughing my way through Odyssey @Blueblur  It is definitely a return to form for the AC games. I’m only on level 11 - feels like there’s so much to do and the world is very rich with detail. 

Installing Mafia 3 which is taking forever.

I got the remaster box set, I enjoyed the first two but I’m still getting used to this one. Following a guide for trophy reasons.

I've been enjoying it, flicking between valhalla and cyberpunk using that quick resume thing is great.

I've hit a bit where I need to grind to level up at the moment though which is a bit annoying.

How does it compare to other AC games?

 

Im hoping to hold off playing it until I get a PS5 which will be Easter time probably.

Did you play odyssey? Because it's basically a shinier viking version of that. I'm enjoying it.

I’m playing through Oddessy now. Enjoying it. The world seems huge. The conquest battles are a pain though - a right challenge

Got a bit further into it and I’m enjoying it. It’s just the constant worry I’m going to f**k up a trophy and there’s no manual save feature that’s got me annoyed!

I’m nearing 65 hours on Valhalla. I would definitely wait til you get a PS5, it’s a gorgeous looking game and runs really well on it. Having a laugh with photo mode, I keep stopping every few moments to take picture of the sun setting over various lakes, rivers etc.

The levelling up is an interesting concept. I find it slightly annoying but addictive. 

PS5 gents, hows the noise on yours? My mates sent his back and is getting a replacement because of Coil whine, its a bloody horrible noise to be fair so I dont blame him.

Really quiet on mine. Occasionally when switching on, the disk whirls pretty loud but thats about it.
