I’m waiting until I can get a PS5 until I play it, apparently if you’ve bought the PS4 version you can upgrade it for free when they release it on PS5.

Because if I get a refund I can get something else. Honestly the state the game is in I can't see it being playable on console for 4-6 months. It's not just quirky glitches, it's game breaking ones. How this thing was released in the state it's in I'll never know.

I think they were worried about the backlash if they delayed again which they got anyway for releasing a game that doesn’t work, maybe they were hoping more people would get hold of next gen consoles?
December 14, 20205 yr The suits have got to balance the books at some point and satisfy the shareholders. The people actually making the game will have had absolutely no say in the matter.

I've got a next gen console and it's still unplayable. The game has crashed on me 5 times whilst doing things like just driving around. I've had enemies not fighting back. Enemies magically spawning into maps. Enemies stuck in animation loops. That's before you get to the sh*t like screen tearing, npcs walking through walls. Items floating in mid air. However bad you think the game is, it's worse right now.

Still sounds better than your standard Fallout/Elder Scrolls game It’s a shame really, after the last Witcher game the standards expected of the developer have probably been unachievable.
December 14, 20205 yr That’s a shame. I’ve not experienced any crashes or major bugs but seen enough comments. It doesn’t look any where near an AAA* rated game. I am finding the amount of cuts and talking abit frustrating though. Feel like I’m just watching it rather than playing it. I don’t have much time to play hours on end so need it to be concise and snappy. Developers said they’re releasing big patches in Jan and Feb along with the one that came out the other day. Who did you get a refund from? The developers directly?
December 15, 20205 yr Is anyone still continuing with Cyber punk or waiting until the fixes are out? I’m tempted to put it on hold and wait until February until the fixes are out.
December 15, 20205 yr I did the first 2 missions, only saw one notable glitch, but driving around shooting in the car in the city was a big laggy and choppy. I will probably wait for a few months and see what they patch. No point playing it now and complaining about it, may as well give them time to fix things.
December 15, 20205 yr Im a good few hours into it now, started act 2 and just doing loads of side quests, gigs etc and thoroughly enjoying it. Barely had any problems other than a floating NPC or 2 so far.

Edit: Oh nvm read new page, that's mental that. I'm literally on a 1060 graphics card and it's running fine with high settings, I think even a PS5 is more powerful than that. Their console port must just be really poor. I heard it was good on new gen though, just old gen was suffering. Edited December 15, 20205 yr by Slojo

Apparently it is close to unplayable on the old consoles. CDPR are doing some serious damage control right now but turns out their press release yesterday saying if your not happy, get a refund... Completely relies on whether Sony or Microsoft approve it. So you've still got to jump through hoops to maybe... maybe get a refund. It's at a point now where they're effectively admitting they released an unfinished product which is just insane.

I love CDPR but they should be doing better here. Especially for old gen, if it doesn't work for old gen then don't sell it for old gen. I completely understand they were afraid of fan backlash if they announced another delay, but surely, they were confident enough last year to say the game was ready for early 2020. Clearly it wasn't. Seems to be a common occurrence in game industries today though, and it looks like it's hit one of the best ones. Hopefully they manage to salvage their reputation and honour the refund practice if Sony and Microsoft both allow it to happen.
December 15, 20205 yr It clearly wasn’t ready but Christmas sales and backlash were the reasons. I think I’ll put it on hold.

I’d rather give independent devs like CDPR the benefit of the doubt and time to fix their sh*t. It’s easy being an EA/Ubisoft dev churning out the same old repetitive sh*t every few months but these guys are trying to build something new from the ground up. Given time and patience they’ll end up with a brilliant game, I think they just have in to the pressure from fans to not delay it again.

December 16, 20205 yr Is it just me or does Cyberpunk look like Skyrim just sci-fi ? I saw some guy playing and it's like the city is half empty and then he gets to put some skills on a menu the difference is in Skyrim it's like in the stars or whatever and here it's like he's getting chipped for Elon Musk or something... I'm clearly not an expert in case there is any confusion
December 17, 20205 yr CD Projekt are destroying their excellent reputation for producing the Witcher 3 and the mad amount of free content they developed for it with an unfinished sci-fi game such as Cyberpunk. Working from home can’t have helped them and there must have been a huge rush and crunch to get it in the shops before Christmas. I’m going to wait a few months before getting it. Im having a blast with AC: Valhalla. This is the most mature, refined game Ubisoft have made, and the best AC game since Black Flag in my opinion. England is just beautiful and the story arcs are absorbing and moving. Raiding monasteries and burning villages to gather wealth never gets old.
December 17, 20205 yr https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-09-29/cyberpunk-2077-publisher-orders-6-day-weeks-ahead-of-game-debut Quote But an account from a CD Projekt Red employee recently as well as an email to staff earlier this week indicate that the company hasn’t lived up to its word. The employee, who asked not to be named discussing private information, said some staff had already been putting in nights and weekends for more than a year. I'm not a game developer but I've been in similar situations and can sympathise with the CD Projekt employees. I'm definitely on the fence about getting it now.

I'm definitely on the fence about getting it now. Crunch is sadly ever-present at almost all game companies. Despite CD Projeckt's 'can do no wrong' image its clear this time round that they too have done what Rockstar, Ubisoft etc etc have done when needing to rush a game out in order to meet a deadline- work their poor employees to the ground.

I’ve decided to put it on hold until the patches are out. I’ll carry on playing Ghost of Tsushima for now. AC Oddessy is only £15 on PS store. I’ve heard good things about it but the newer AC games dont quite take my fancy. Anyone rate it?
