On paper - Man City.

But we'll have to wait and see how things go over the season. I imagine it'll be either Man Utd or man City who's strikers score the most between them.

I can see Rooney getting 20ish this season, Hernandez probably 15. Wellbeck and berbatov probably about 10 each.

Whereas Drogba's on the decline, so probably only around 10. Same for Anelka. Lakaku I can't see getting many chances, so probably 5-10, and Torres will be lucky to get 1.

Pretty much agree with this. I still think you should be playing Sturridge more.

Sturridge will be an important part of the team this year, he was impressive in preseason, but he'll l;ikely be used in a Hulk sort of role. Being left footed playing as an inside forward on the right, cutting inside and shooting. So it's up to personal opinion whether he';s listed as a striker or a winger or whatever, but he'll be part of the attack, yes.

I think chelsea, united and citeh are on an equal par. that is on paper anyway. If our strikers click into gear then we can certainly match anyones. The other teams are a fair bit behind. Arsenal and liverpool both have one superb striker apiece in suarez and RVP but the rest of their players are lacking somewhat.

Reason that we havent been playing studge more is because he has been suspended for the first 3 games of the season but i have every bit of faith that he will get his chances otherwise he would have been loaned out again

Which I fully expect us to dol. He's just completed a 3-match suspension so hasn't been available so far this season.

Was that an after thought, 'cos you say we should be playing him more (which we will) but you didn't include him in the original list?!!

And what about Kalou? How could you forget Kalou? (even though some of us try to!!)

No I feel you should be playing him more, but I just can't see him as a main striker, or even a back up striker for you guys. I don't think Andre Boas will play him. Even more so with Lukaku coming in now.

I think you've got that back to front. Lukaku is only 18, fresh to the Premiership, and may well be going on loan in January. Sturridge on the other hand, is now a highly rated striker with a proven record (at Bolton admittedly) of scoring in the Premiership.

My feeling is that Liverpool fans, like Tottenham fans, having seen that Sturridge wasn't even on the bench for our first three games, have leaped to the conclusion that AVB doesn't rate him (if you listen to AVB you'll find that quite the opposite is true), overlooking the inconvenient little fact that Sturridge was serving a three match ban incurred for being sent off during his last match for Bolton.

When you put it like that, I can see him as a back up striker. I actually forgot that Lukaku was only 18, he looks much older.

With Tevez staying , I would hand this to City . They have the best strike force . They have a variety in attack which is missing in other teams .

Saying that , If Torres and Drogba can strke up a partnership ( I' m hoping fervently ) , then everything else is next . 2 Best center forwards , if they can gel , it will be a dream strike force . Do not pick me for my wish, it is my biggest wish for the season :)

With the recent emergence of Dzeko (you just knew this guy was going to turn class) it has to be City by a comfortable margin.

If they do have to get rid of Tevez (maybe) or Balotelli (very likely, IMO) in the near future, then things could be different. But even if that primmadonna Tevez just retires, i doubt the City lot would care because Dzeko and Aguero will score for fun up front.

Id rank them like so

City

Man Utd/Chelsea (a and b)

Liverpool

Arsenal

Spurs

It's not always about the individuals in a strike force though. You could argue that Torres and Drogba are the biggest names of those listed, but they don't play veyr well together. Go back a few years and we had too much smaller names in Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen, and they were a great partnership, hit over 50 goals between them in 01/02. So if one of the other clubs finds themselves with a great partnership, they could easily out score the bigger names.

On paper:

1. City

2. Us

3. United

4. Liverpool

5. Arsenal

6. Spurs

In reality:

1. City

2. United

3. Us

4. Arsenal

5. Liverpool

6. Spurs

Tottenham could have had a decent strikeforce if they had sold us Modric. Although, I do feel that Adebayor is massively overrated on account of that one season where he couldn't miss. Been fairly average since then.

1. City

2. United

3. Us

4. Liverpool

5. Arsenal

6. Spurs

Edit: Actually, I'm going to flop the last 2 around. I don't like Arsenal up front at all, especially when RVP goes on his annual injury break.

On a side note, I was thinking about that season, and about how hot a commodity Adebayor was (summer of 2008 was it?). I remember Milan were bidding close to 30 million pounds for him, and Arsenal said no.

Granted, they got rid of him for 25 million a year later, but considering:

And the fact that he is now at Tottenham, and the fact that keeping him didnt really do anything but make him lose his motivation after that year (I think he said he wanted that move) that is one of the great "what if" transfers.

It's a tough question and depends really on Torres. If he were to all of a sudden become pre 2010 Torres, then I think it would have to be us, because we'd possess arguably two of the best five or six strikers in the world.

As it is I'd say City. Tevez is simply the best lone forward in the world in my view. My real concern with City is when he unseats Dzeko as their key striker. They'll be very scary when that happens.

Either way it doesn't matter...all of the players listed can score goals, but they need one important element,,,,,,the ball...if the City or Utd forward line don't have the ball distribution they aren't going to score...so should the question be reworded? to....'which forward line is going to get the best service this year....' or something like that
