Florent. Not a legend but...

Featured Replies

not everyones first pick (or maybe anyones) but his overall contribution since he joined has been very decent

hardly ever injured (not tempting fate) since he joined

no moans, tantrums or bad press

decent scoring record for midfielder

plenty of assists

won the double, played a big part that season

always works his nuts off

good team player, committed to the club, no dodgy interviews with french press

maybe not lightning quick, or fancy, or brilliance - but a very good player

glad we have him at our club

My take on FloMo:

Excellent start. Rapid decline into uselessness.

Reborn under Hiddink, superb in our double season.

Lost form last season (who didn't?) but chipped in with a good few goals.

Pretty average this season. I don't see him as first choice any more.

Comes across as a top bloke and very committed to the club.

If you mean that he always works hard not sure about that to be honest. If Drogs is having an off day he doesn't bother trying to get things going. He decides to fade to the background and let others make initiative. He has no leader capabilities. If he indeed is working his socks off all the time it is not very apparent to see.

But when his spirits are high he is very good winger. Double season and the time with Guus he was world class at times.

Good not great.

You obviously haven't noticed he is Mod's first choice!

Sod's Law. The players you could get away with being injured never are (Kalou is another one)!

Sorry, but there have been many occassions where he hasn't.

Not sure Torres would agree with you on that one

He has been a good squad player during his time with us but I certainly wouldn't be bothered if he moves on. When you look at what Mata now brings to the team - there is no comparison.

Flo has been a decent player at chelsea but never really excelled. There was so much expected from him and he didn't fulfill. If you all remember it took him a very long time to start making an impact. He scored 2 goals in his first season. I think that the club has shown great faith in him, even too much perhaps. We should keep him though as he offers an attacking option on the wing. If we sign a winger in january or the summer then he should move on. But till then he is still an extremely useful player chipping in with a decent amount of goals.

I know what your saying, but to say he never exelled is a joke. In the double winnning season, him and drogba looked like they could walk the league together. Like it has been said before, he is very much a confidence player. When the team badly, malouda genrally plays badly. When the team plays well, malouda generally plays well. Lately though when the team play well, malouda doesnt. Which is why, for me, he must be gone soon.

In the double winning season, he was brilliant but that is one season. He isn't one to create or spark opportunities when we most need it. He scored 15 goals in 50 apps. Although that is an impressive statistic you must see that Flo scored a lot in the smaller games and not in the games that mattered. Drogba scores in the important games and that is why I think he hasn't really excelled. I say that he hasn't really excelled not that he never excelled. We need a player who can step up on the big occasion. Also I don't think that danny sturridge is a big game player either but I hope he proves me wrong.
