Posted December 27, 201113 yr Rumours rife in Manchester that Fergie is sniffing around Frei, he was impressed with him in our Carling Cup match earlier in the season and yesterday when given his first league start. For me this is a carbon copy of the Smalling situation when he impressed against us and like Jones who as a kid was brilliant for Blackburn in his debut also against us. He played on the right of a front three against us in the Carling Cup and caused us countless problems, yesterday he gave Bosingwa a torrid time on the left. IF we are looking to the future this kid just could be the ticket, if 'Red Nose' is interested so should we. Remember when that kid Aquero tore us apart and we never made a move?

December 28, 201113 yr I know exactly what you were thinking and it's something that Carlo spoke about. It's an age bracket where players are just getting to their peak and where you'll usually find the best in the world. It's something the squad does lack, but it's not necessarily something to be adhered to too strictly with the obvious exceptions mentioned above.

January 2, 201213 yr Ruiz is quite a bit older than I thought he was though. I thought he was about 19/20 as well, but he's actually 26. Not sure he'll really get any better if he's already 26.
