Thinking about it it’s a bad idea. I had to do a 12 hour shift the next day in a roasting hot kitchen whilst hanging out my arse! Missed the parade and everything!

Indeed it does.

What a great day that was. So many memories. The long coach journeys to and from Munich. I went with a mate of mine who I've known since primary school. The lack of sleep and lots of beer. Drogba's equaliser. The penalty shoot-out. I would love to have gone to the victory parade but didn't arrive home until late. Even if I had arrived home early I'm not sure I could have made it up to town as was bloody knackered. 

Had Monday off work to recover. When I went back into work on Tuesday I met a Spurs fan and asked him if he had had a good weekend. He told me to f**k off. Charming. Can't think why he was upset. Oh, wait.....

The Monday morning. I was 'greeted'  by my then pompous boss, who asked me.

"And when did you become a Chelsea supporter then ?"

"1974/75." was my reply.

"How long have you been a City fan ?" I asked him...

He then quickly got on with some paperwork...

That reminds me, in the mid 90's I was going for a job in the City and was interviewed by a manager who had a mild Northern accent. I had football listed on my CV as an interest ( a thing not recommended these days). He asked me about the football and I said some playing and following Chelsea. He said he liked Leeds. He smiled and I smiled back.

Got the feeling the assistant manager in the interview didn't like me.

Found out later she was an Arsenal fan.

I got the job.

Great to see the shoot-out from the Bayern end. I understood some of the German but not what was said about Didier. I suspect it wasn't very nice. Also surprised that the guy who took the video didn't delay it. Unless he was a German Chelsea fan and he sneaked in.

Before the game Chelsea and Bayern fans were mixing in the pubs. No trouble. Have to say the Germans make some fine beer but then Bavaria has a history of making some fine beers and has some of the World's oldest laws concerning the brewing of beer.

incredible game - one where the real story and the twists and turns betters anything you could make up

what a team we had then - so sad it went a bit pear shaped after that, but that's what it's like following Chelsea
