BLUENUT
Does anyone know whats happending with Cudicini? He was reported to have a groin/calf strain weeks ago but seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. Maybe he's not being selected for reason's other than a 'strain'. Anyone know when he's likely to be available for selection or if he's even training? We can't go into the run-in with Hilarious in goal if we want to seriously challenge Manu

BLUENUT
As I asked when you seemed to be considering something sinister in another thread: please give us some of your speculations Bluenut! Carlo was told at the start of the season he was 2nd choice keeper. Meaning if anything happened to Cech, he'd be in the side. After his injury at Reading he delclared himself fit for Barcalona only to be told it was too so by medical staff so Jose stuck with Hilarious. The next game, can't remember who, Jose stuck with Hilarious and Carlo wasn't selected, even after being so close to fitness against Barca. Carlo made a couple of appearances then it seems he has disappeared off the face of the earth. I just wanted to know if anyone knew how he was doing, how close to fitness he is and when he's likely to be back. I just didn't think a groin/calf strain kept you out for over about 8 weeks!! If he's fit he should be in the side. If he is injured then fair enough, I just wanted to know when he was likely to be back.
ethicalstrategy
I have to say that I too think there may be more to this than meets the eye. We have heard that Petr will be back in the next couple of weeks but not a whisper about Carlo. It's hard to believe that he would have been left out in recent matches if he was fit but at the same time he has been absent for a long period without any suggestion as to when he might return. If Cech is fit before the end of January then I think we might well see Carlo on his way elsewhere.

ethicalstrategy
Does anyone know whats happending with Cudicini? Valerie has him tucked up in Amsterdam Presumably that would mean that it's a groin strain not a calf strain - no wonder it's taking a long time to get better!! loz
I have to say it does seem very strange as there seems to be little in the way of updates regarding his injury. In other news Cech claims he is fit for first team action again http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hli ... +for+Blues Could we have seen Carlo play for the first team for the last time? I think it is possible.
ossie13
http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_ ... _table.php This useful site is showing him out with thigh injury and no return date which would indicate it being serious So it seem strange nothing on the official site :?: Might have to agree with Loz is this the end of Carlo :!: :!: :!:
BLUENUT
Thks Ossie. As a general rule grade one thigh strains should be rested from sporting activity for about 3 weeks, and grade two injuries for about 4 to 6 weeks. In the case of a complete rupture the muscle will have to be repaired surgically and the rehabilitation afterwards will take about 3 months. He has been out for over 6-7 weeks and nobody has mentioned surgery which leads me to think not all is well with Carlo's status at the club. I hope my suspicions have become a bit clearer in this thread Valerie
Valerie
Thanks Bluenut. I have to deny the rumours that I'm personally wearing out Carlo (or vice versa) I place Chelsea's interests above my own I think you read too much in the silence re Carlo's injury. Although it's inevitable that he's going to leave the club in the near future, there is no indication that all of a sudden his status is "not well". If the club want to sell him, this seems a very complicated way of handling things. If they want to sell, put him in a shop window, tell the world he's fit or almost so (unless an offer is already in of course, and negotiations are ongoing. But wouldn't at least some rumour have gone out already?). And I still wonder why an inexperienced Kalambay would be on the bench for us, instead Carlo if he's fit. To me, it just says he's still not fit to play, that's all.
loz
According to an article on the officicial site the return of both Petr and Carlo to 1st team training is imminent.
ethicalstrategy
i think its very unprofessional of carlo to get injured when we need him : ) its no gooD being fit again now cech is ok lol
mad_mac
unfortunatley I think Loz may be right. If carlo comes back at the same time as Cech, Cech will be first choice, no hesitation/question. This also means that it is unlike last season where we had the title wrapped up, and could have played Carlo enough for him to get a winner's medal. This season, IF we win, and IF cech makes a comeback, there is no doubt Cech will be between the sticks until the bitter end. I don't think Carlo has played enough to get a medal this season, again. IF we win the league, which is looking less likely Scott
Valerie
League appearances: Hilario 10, Carlo 6+1, Cech 6. I think a player needs 10 appearances for a championship medal. If Carlo and Cech get fit simultaneously, Cech will get the nod. Carlo will need to muscle in on 3 matches to get his medal (IF we win the league, I don't want to jinx it )
