I had both for a while but sold Xbox on ebay a good few months back.

I take it by you selling the xbox that you prefer the PS4? Why do you think the PS4 is better?

Yeah just a personal preference tbh.

I think the PS4 looks better and I prefer the exslusive games they have like The Last Of Us, Uncharted and looking forward to The Order.

One of the other reasons was it's a more powerful machine and done some reading up on it and it seemed it had the best potential for gaming out of the two consoles.

People will go for what they know though so if you had a 360 then you are more likely to go for the Xone and if a PS3 then the PS4.

See i have an xbox 360 but i am open to getting a PS4. I just wanted to make sure getting a PS4 was a better idea than getting an xbox one.

As with every console it really comes down to 2 things, which one does most of your mates have, which one has the exclusives you want. The cross console games have so little difference it shouldn't really be something to base your choice on. Same as last gen.

Most of my mates have got the xbox one BUT it is a very very rare moment when we all go online to play multiplayer together and thats why im not worried about getting an xbox one.

Well it's down to games then, Do a bit of reading about what games are on the horizon for both consoles as exclusives like Forza 2 (xone) and Metal Gear (PS4) and see which ones interest you the most.

Other than that it's just down to personal preference (like me saying the PS4 is better on the eye).

Okay so I'm thinking of getting a Next-Gen console. At the moment I have an Xbox 360 and I like it, I prefer it to the PS3.

 

People have complained about the prices of the Xbox One but they are roughly the same as the PS4 now, some bundles even cheaper.

 

Is the PS4 controller any better than the PS3 one? I hated the PS3 controller, it was too small.

 

Also heard about some issues to do with playing offline and sharing discs with the Xbox One but I also heard they'd been sorted.

PS4 controller is the best out of the next gen IMO.

It's much bigger than the PS3 DS controller and it feels terrible when you go back to the PS3 now.

The PS4 also has a speaker in the controll which for some titles is a great addition like Mordor and Evil Within...really eeerie sounding. You also don't need batteries like the Xone.

A good charge and you get 4-5 hours play and I bought an extended charger wire in any case if I needed it.

I think the PS4 alkso looks much slicker and less 'bulky' than the Xone and as SOny's machine has the most potential for gaming it really was an easy choice for me.

Talking of Next Gen consoles..

 

I had on of the biggest throwbacks today. When I was about 5-6 years old I had the original PlayStation 1, the grey console with 2 buttons and a disc player. On it I had a couple of games like Colin McRae Rally 2.0, an early Resident Evil game, a Medal Of Honor and some more. But the creme de la creme of it was Gran Turismo 2, We used to play the hell out of that game. In the intro of that game was a song by The Cardigans called My Favourite Game. I used to be obsessed with always watching the full intro because I loved the song.

 

Today, randomly scrolling through Spotify searching for music, I accidentally found that song, and oh my oh my oh my.. Words cannot describe how bad I want to be 6 again playing Gran Turismo 2 on my PS1 with the lads, oh the happy days.

 

Unfortunately time travel is not yet possible, but what I can do is be 17 playing Gran Turismo 2 on my PS1 with the lads. Instantly went to the forums and searched for any offers and luck has it someone's offering one for 25 euros with 18 games aswell, including FIFA 99, but not Gran Turismo 2.

 

So, haven't heard back from him but hopefully I have the PS1, now I only have to find a Gran Turismo 2 somewhere.

 

Time to set my PS4 aside and let it learn from the master, the one and the almight PlayStation 1.

To some extent.. the PS1 is the ultimate box of magic that contains so many amazing memories for me it's impossible to put into words. That said, I did not have get into console gaming again until I was about 14, when I bought the Xbox 360, by then I had adopted the belief the Xbox was the better console, had it for about a year, sold it to get money for a bike, had the bike for a year, sold it and bought another Xbox 360. And I had that Xbox until the PS4 came out which was when I turned pack to the PS, which was an emotional time for me because of all the amazing memories with the PS1, even though for the past few years I've been an Xbox person, I surely have a more deeper connection with the PS.

 

P.S: don't mind the yoda talk, I'm so shocked by this travel back to my childhood I could write a novel about it.
