How do you know theres no interest? because the papers aint goin on about it?

Madrid have been linked to a few GK's in the past few months especially as Casillas has been so so in form.

Sirigu is a decent keeper but he's not on the same level as Cech.

Why the hyperbole? I didn't answer your comment with a "f**k it let's sell hazard to to qpr"

I just think after 10 years you would expect players to feel, what fans feel.

The club brought in a younger player to take his place when Pete felt he could still do a job, what do you want him to do? Just sit on the bench so he doesnt offend the fans?

I think he does feel what fans feel, that if my current employer didn't want me and I had a young family then I'd look to work for a rival if they were offering a comparable position in the same area.

Sure I could work abroad but that means finding new schools, a new home, leaving my friends and I may not want to do that.

Once again we're in the 'footballers are humans' area and shouldn't place unrealistic expectations on them be it going abroad when they don't want to or committing suicide on a football pitch.

Not that this has anything to do with it but I get the impression you are trying to have a dig at me.

I’m born and raised in Glasgow, brought up a Rangers fan. My dad was English and from London he was/is a diehard Chels fan but couldn’t afford to take me down to see Chelsea back then. We moved down when I was 11-12 and from then I was taken to the Bridge every other week. I now go between Glasgow and London due to work, I love both cities and glad I have ties in both so I can get to see the two teams I was brought up to love.

So if this is about my loyalty you may as well take it elsewhere.

Like I said it wasn't personal so I was just seeing if maybe our differing opinions came from our different backgrounds. You're the one who bought up the situation in Glasgow.

Me, I've only ever supported Chelsea and got great pleasure out of seeing players like Mark Hughes play for us. He was a United legend sold on the cheap when they decided to move on.

My point of view is this - I like Petr Cech as a person, I love what he's given to this club but we've moved on and I respect the man enough to be fine with whatever he chooses. I believe he's given more than enough for me to treat him with a basic level of human decency.

I dont know for sure, but the fact there hasnt really been any rumours about teams wanting him, the fact that it looks like we might sell to Arsenal and his situation are good indications that thefe really isnt any interest. You think if Pete wanted to go to Madrid and they wanted him we would even entertain selling to Arsenal?

Id hope that he would go to anyone of the other clubs that aren't a rival. Being professional footballer, involves a hell of a lot of travelling. I don't see why it would be so unreasonable to hope pete spends 3 or 4 years in sunny spain.

Im sure his 5 and 6 year old kids feel the same way.

Doesnt seem like they are after him though

Also when do club legends ever go to their main rivals? I just don't see it as normal.

What do you want him to do? Lets entertain for a moment that Arsenal are the only team that wants him. What should he do?

I'm not gonna worry about the kids of millionaires. They will have more opportunities than 99.9% of the world. It would hardly be a punishment for them, and for all you know, they could really want to go abroad.

LoL yes because money solves everything.

He may feel a massive affinity with the club, but he still wants a career at the highest level and if everything fits (ie. still in London if he wants to stay with his family, the right contract etc) then who are we to call him on it after the career he has had with us. If he thinks its the right move and we are willing to let him go, then why shouldnt he take it?

Money has absolutely no bearing on a 5 year old kid, what a bizarre thing to say. Do you think moving to another country will be ok if he bus his kids a new dolls house?

What would be the point? There will be more than just arsenal interested in cech. You make it sound as if club legends leave to go to rivals on a regular basis. I wonder if gerrard will retire at Everton, or Rooney will move to city.

How many clubs will be able to offer him the contract he wants, in the city he possible wants to keep his family in? Maybe he should sign for Leyton Orient.

I didn't say it did, I just said that in sure the very short time his kids may or may not be upset, it is just a drop in the pond for the life of opportunities they will have being Petr Cechs kids.

I don't begrudge them one bit, but I also am not gonna worry about how they might feel. I have never met then, neither has x factor I assume, so why use how you think they may feel as an argument?

If Rooney was enched at Utd in his prime and the only team that came calling was City he would go in a heartbeat. Poor examples though, Gerrard grew up as a liverpool fan and playing fir their youth set up and he is already way past his prime. Cech isnt and he plays a position you cant really rotate

What are you talking about? Off course I dont give two bob about Petes kids. Im sure he does though and if it were my kids I would off course take their happiness and well beeing into consideration

We will all have to agree to disagree. For me I think loyalty should be a priority. I know a few of you are happy for him to play anywhere, I respect your opinions, probably more than you respect mine.

Also when do club legends ever go to their main rivals? I just don't see it as normal.

Peter Schmeichel was a hero for Utd and ended up at City. Ok he didnt go directly there, but he still went after he was deemed not up the Utd's standard.

Same as you mate.

You just don't sell players to direct rivals never mind ones in the same city.

I guess it's an old fashioned view but it's one I will continue to hold.

plus using Rooney as an example isn't the best, considering if utd hadn't hit his contract demands, twice, he would almost certainly be at city.

Loyalty will only go so far, he is allowed to decide his career should be willing to let him go, surely.

I wasn't direct though and there aren't many examples. I personally don't think it's unreasonable expectation. If he goes to arsenal so be it, I'd prefer him not to, as im sure he would have plenty of options, others don't care. Fair enough, I just don't see why people are speculating on how his kids feel.

Its not as if we are selling Hazard to Man Utd, this is another non starter for us, it clears wages and allows US to strengthen.

We've hardly been caught out badly in our recent sales...

How about people show respect to a guy who served UA amazingly, nearly died for us on a pitch and whom we've replaced by letting him go where he wishes. Plenty of players have moved to rival clubs like this in the past so why a tiny minority of fans think he should go abroad because they can't bear to see him at arsenal I don't know.

Surely he's earned that hasn't he?
