De Gea has nothing on Cech. Even though De Gea is more settled he is still not that great at collecting the ball and is beating quite easily from shots.

And he is more than likely riding the bench for most matches prior to him being sent out. Truly saddened to see such a wonderful ambassador for the club and top 3 keepers in the world have to be sent away but reality is he is on the downs love of his career (solely based on age and obviously not skill) and we were fortunate enough to sign a keeper who has the same potential as Cech on the pitch.

Bottom line, Cech deserves a starting place in a top club as long as it is outside of England. Pure class and I hope Chelsea give him some options out of respect to join a club he has some desire to join. That rules out them Scouse C**ts! Neither a top club nor would Cech go there.

I'd put him on a similar level to Courtois really although I wouldn't take De Gea over him.

Serious. I think the only ones who feels hes not are Chelsea fans. I think hes better then Chesney, but that doesnt matter much, wouldnt make sense to buy him. Instand by what I said before, I doubt any of the big clubs go in for him. Only concrete offer we seemed to get in August was from QPR. Valencia has a new rich owner trying to get together a contender, Cech would make them a lot better immidiately. I could see Milan or maybe Wolfsburg being interested

I think De Gea is underrated by Chelsea fans in that he is only seen as a shot stopper, but I still wouldn't put him on a par with Cech. Cech's a level above.

i do think De Gea gk style is quite weird and not the traditional style

he can save the strange shot but he let in some easy one, i would rather the other way though

Gotta be Courtois IMO. Already proven at the very top level and could be our 'keeper for another decade.

Is anyone else concerned that we have only kept 1 clean sheet this season and to be honest we havent really played a decent team yet.

Most of the goals Thibaut allowed, basically he had no opportunity to stop.

Despite of it, I would give Cech a chance to play against Citeh. Possibly a game or two would not hurt anyone.

He's had no chance with most of the goals because our back line are inept at protecting him.

Cech would have saved them.

Think it's obvious Cech will be gone in January.

He aint first choice for EPL and not first choice for CL.

He will only get the league cup games I'd wager and that isn't enough.

Hopefully we do a swap deal involving Varne if Real come sniffing.

I feel Cechs experience and confidence in organising the defence in front of him has been missed. Cortouis still has lots to learn in that regard.

Thats the last thing you need for continuity is swapping your keepers, benefits no one.

We will not see Cech until the League & FA cup.

One of those saves was an absolute worldie against Leicester which did as much to get us the three points as Costa's goal.

 

He's dealing with crosses better than Cech was last season and his kicking is improving game on game. Honestly speaking I think if you're looking at JT and Cahill and thinking we're missing Cech's leadership then there's a bigger issue going on.

 

We've upgraded the goalkeeper position. We probably need to look to do the same with the defence if these early matches are anything to go by.

It's a reasonable conclusion to come to based on performances so far.

The only goal I think you could say he should've done better on is Eto'o's and that was a world-class header.

 

Beyond that the biggest worries would probably be the midfield (who lost the battle for the first 60 minutes at Everton and the first 40 at Swansea) and JT and Gazza who were bullied by Gomis for parts of the Swansea games and invited Draxler to have a shot last night.

 

But it's early in the season under a new system and these are things you'd hope to improve.

 

In my opinion, we've got the second best keeper in the world in goal now and he's made us BETTER in some aspects, particularly dealing with crosses.
