October 30, 201312 yr So the club hasn't stated the need to move but obviously seat expansion is a major priority for this administration. In other words we need to move, just wish something could be done, but even Spurs who have had an easier go at a move haven't completed their stadium yet. Still this can't be our barometer, we need to really push the pedal in order to build that 60,000 seater (with room for further expansion as mentioned in the article).
October 31, 201312 yr Do not know why there is such an obsession with staying in cramped London SW, there is plenty of space around here, why just at the back of me is 60 acres, it is only 3.5 / 4hrs from the bridge, prefect. Especially for me.
October 31, 201312 yr Must admit my opinion has changed on this. I was quite happy to stay at the bridge until recently when we seem to be selling out home games quite quickly and some of my non member mates can no longer get tickets and this hasn't been the case in previous seasons. I always felt 60,000 was a bit top heavy and we wouldn't fill it but now I think we will, and to become self sufficient we need that extra revenue the additional crowd will bring. So lets make those hard decisions and get it sorted! For me Battersea would of been good but as that is a no goer I feel anywhere in the old heartlands is a must, maintain our identity. Just think a top league game where almost any member could go or a capital one cup game where its a tenner a ticket!!!!
October 31, 201312 yr I would love to sit in the main supporter stand without watching the game through a letter box

October 31, 201312 yr Well if you ask nicely your neighbour might let you in to watch it Ha ha brilliant. I agree with xfactor the view is shocking from the back of the Mhl.
October 31, 201312 yr Ha ha brilliant. I agree with xfactor the view is shocking from the back of the Mhl. Speaking of MHL and shocking view. I have been offered a couple of tickets in row FF, are those too far back if you actually want to see the match.
October 31, 201312 yr I'm a shed lower fella normally, but FF is ok you just wont be able to see the high balls goal kicks etc. I'm in EE for the Soton game hoping for a better atmosphere then the Shed lower offered me against Fulham. But it will still be a letter box having said that Xfactor. Take the tickets, sing your heart out and enjoy the game!
October 31, 201312 yr Was in the Mhl at the back a few times I felt it was the same as the back of the shed lower. Atmosphere would be good at the back of the Mhl.
October 31, 201312 yr Speaking of MHL and shocking view. I have been offered a couple of tickets in row FF, are those too far back if you actually want to see the match. Yes, its awful. I was away up towards the very back of the MHL in the worst seats imaginable once, nearly got a creak in the neck trying to see the action because of the fecking roof! Never again. Had a similar experience for Villa at home this year too. I guess you just have to log in at 6.59 on the day the tickets go on sale and hope for the best!

Last time I was right at the back of the shed lower it was against Wolves we were right next to them, had a right laugh with some of the fellas around me, loads of banter with the Wolves fans, I find that always adds an edge to the game! I always seem to get tickets in the shed lower up the front now towards the west.
October 31, 201312 yr This might sound silly but if I go to a game and we get bet and we create a good atmosphere I don't mind getting bet as much. If we won and the atmosphere was sh*t I'd be pissed off. For me it's all about the atmosphere and a few pints before the game. If you want to sit on yours and be quite go to a theatre. Spot on Bluegraham, i'm with you on that. Performance off and on the pitch is important, the only difference is I have a few more beers after the match and a celebratory ruby if we win.

Logging in at 6:59 will put you in the back of the liune and you wont be able to order tix until 7:30 . Is it even possible to get good seats in the MHL without beeing a season ticket holder.

November 1, 201312 yr Chelsea’s only realistic hope of matching the £ millions earned by United and Arsenal would be to move to a larger stadium. Chelsea’s chairman, Bruce Buck, pointed out that Stamford Bridge was only the eight largest stadium in the Premier League and 60th biggest in Europe. More than that, the club is scared of being left behind by others’ developments, even though it is far from certain that Chelsea would be able to fill a 55,000-60,000 stadium. Even Buck expressed some doubts, “Maybe with digital media and whatever, match day crowds will stay flat or, who knows, even go down.” The club paid £700,000 to two architectural firms to look at the possibility of expanding the Bridge, but both concluded that this would be unworkable and prohibitively expensive, even though the local Hammersmith and Fulham council is supportive. According to Buck, a new stadium would cost £550-600 million with Chelsea hoping to fund around a third of that by redeveloping Stamford Bridge. They wanted to facilitate this approach by buying back the freehold from a company called Chelsea Pitch Owners that had been set up many years ago to prevent the ground from falling into unfriendly hands. However, the club failed to convince the required 75% of CPO shareholders of their plans (though 61.6% voted in favour), so that avenue of funding has been closed – at least for the time being. Chelsea’s preferred site appears to be Nine Elms, next to the famous old Battersea power station, and they have commissioned developers to study a possible move, despite the CPO setback. Other sites considered have included Earls Court, Olympia, White City, Imperial Wharf and even Wormwood Scrubs. Chelsea’s search is made more difficult by the lack of readily available sites in the local area and has been complicated by QPR’s new owner, Tony Fernandes, also talking about a stadium move in the vicinity. Whatever happens, there would be many hurdles to overcome, including planning permission, and a new stadium would not be ready for many years, so this is very much future music in terms of additional revenue. November 1, 201312 yr Its a shame we cant buy out the surrounding buildings and make some space / find a way to expand the Bridge! Edited November 1, 201312 yr by Zola
