If you cheat, you can win.

haha

I thought you were calling me a cheat...I wouldn't be doing a very good job cheating if I left it like that.

I'm hoping season 4 will be the year...I've kept most my team together, but my wage budget has been reduced again. I'll still consider any offers from other clubs though. I've had interview offers from many skrill premier teams, and one team in the third tier of Scottish football...nothing good enough to jump at though.

I could have posted...but then I'd just be talking to myself.

I got Sestao promoted in season 4....and first season in the second division, I'm in the playoff spots. I am not ready for La Liga, so I'm kind of hoping I don't get back to back promotions. Some decent young regens...and I actually have a prolific striker. He's nothing special...except for the fact he just keeps scoring.

Ive been following the thread still Cam. Just havent been adding to it because i havent been able to make alot of time to be playing.

I have a question for you or anyone else who plays this wonderful game, to run multiple leagues as i see a few of you doing what sort of specs do you have on your machines? I ask because as im setting up it sometimes only offers me half a star but i can still play a full english season. Im a little confused by the whole star system for PC specs.

I got a new laptop recently. It's got quad core processing, 16GB of ram. I made this a slightly bigger league than my Chelsea save, because I want it to be a career game where I have plenty of choice to move (and started unemployed...so options were important there too). I believe mine is at 4 stars despite having a large database, A-Leauge, the 6 divisions of England, 3 in France, 3 in Germany, 2 in Italy, 3 in Portugal, 4 in Scotland, 3 in Spain.

It performs quite, well, there's the odd hang, but it's relatively easy time wise. Slightly slower than the 4 1/2 star game which I have my Chelsea save as. I've never played below 3 stars....so I have no idea what my laptop would make of that.

It seems the update has given wingers half a brain and stopped them trying to get a corner off the fullback instead of crossing, the game is playable again! :D

You should take the star system with a pinch of salt. I've heard plenty of stories about people with perfectly good laptops only having half a star showing up.

I currently run at half a star and I dont think its slow. But then I again I only run the leagues that I'm bothered about such as the English, German Spanish and French. My laptop has 6GB of RAM not sure what the processor is though.

Talking about Stars...

My 1 star winger which I've had since Skrill South is topping the average rating tables in League One (7.67)

All my back room staff tell me to get rid of him as he's apparently out of his depth.  :laugh2:

Yeah I think the coaches should stop doing that, it's really annoying. If they perform they perform. For example, Lambert would be a 3 star prem striker, but if you went up the leagues with a 27-30 year old from league 1, he would probably be 1 star by the Prem.

Last year with Luton, I had a Aberdeen Youngster who was 3 star in league 2 and half a star by the prem, but averaged 7.5-7.7 consistently.

Good luck to your lad.

Finished 5th in the league in 2017/18 with Sestao. Won in the semi final of the playoff...only to falter in the final. Lost the first leg away 3-0. Won the home leg 3-1, but it wasn't enough. No BBVA for me, which is for the best I think. Need to tinker with the squad a bit.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Start of season 2018/19 with Sestao, the second season in Adelante, my top striker gets injured for 2-3 months. To give you an idea of what that means to me, consider his statistics from his time with me.

2014/15 - 30 games, 10 goals, 5 assists

2015/16 - 33 games, 35 goals, 5 assists

2016/17 - 39 games, 32 goals, 9 assists

2017/18 - 39 games, 32 goals, 6 assists

2018/19 - 2 games, 3 goals...injury

He's the most prolific striker I've had on FM14. His stats aren't even amazing...he just keeps scoring. He's my only player in the squad who is considered 'a decent La Liga player'. He won so many games for me single handedly...now I have to do it without him.

Just got into the Championship. This is where it gets difficult.

Went on a storming FA cup fun. Beat Watford (Was 6th in the PL at the time) 5-1.

Lost in the sixth round to Man City away after a 2-2 draw at home.

Having to deal with a lot of my players asking to leave for a bigger club. Ungrateful c**ts. Without me, they would still be in the Skrill South.

I bought that in-game editor thing and now it's just too tempting to cheat, so i can't even play it anymore.

You don't have the willpower to avoid the editor?

I used to use a program called genie scout...you couldn't edit anything, but you could see player ratings and snap up all the good players at very cheap prices...haven't used it for a few years, but when I did have it, I struggled not to use it.

I haven't used an editor thing this year? Is it something SI have released, or is it from an external source?

My laptop has 4gb of RAM and it manages a few leagues on a large database, got 8GB in the post so hopefully will see some improvements.

Nope. Willpower has never been a trait of mine.

Its an add-on sold via steam. I would suggest to you to avoid it at all costs as it is an in-game editor that will edit ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. Totally f**ks the game up tbh. Also thanks for all your replies on the star system.

I don't have the in-game editor but if I want to be naughty I edit the database through the FM Database Editor.

No way to change it once you've started the game, so after a season or two, the changes are pretty much diminished. I created my local club Newhaven FC and gave myself a sugar daddy (who has now left and replaced by a skint motherf**ker)

Getting my ass handed to me in the Championship  :laugh2:

After two solid wins against promotion favourites and a 3-1 win against Fulham in the CoC, I thought I was going to absolutely piss it.

I'm now 10th after 3 losses on the bounce and without a win in 7.

I'm predicted to finish 13th, but I'm desperate go get into the Prem.

Reluctant to change my tactics as it's served me really well on my Chelsea save and my lower league adventures.
