Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Lol

Wow you go through threads like a sad act looking for people to prove wrong?

Get a f**king life

Edited by RFC_CFC

Is anyone else amazed by how much pace and ball control Costa appears to have? I expected much less of that to be honest, but I will be glad for him to prove me wrong!

Edit: But maybe it's just me being overenthusiastic since our strikers didtn't the bar very high last season.

He isn't the best though IMO.

He is average compared to the Agueros, Suarez and other top strikers.

I have a feeling he would flop here and based on what I have seen he has limited ability as a footballer.

32 million. Costa should die. He has downs

Jesus!

I'd hate us to pay that for him, hes decent but he's no Aguero or Suarez

Don't be such a spiteful person. Support chelsea please

If he gets injured were all f**ked

It's scary how we can leave ourselves open to this. One hamstring tweak and we're lumbered with the disaster that is Torres.

Come on then mate you prick

It's one thing bringing up people's old opinions (which are allowed to change you know) - it's another thing acting like an idiotic 12 year old.

Guys a sad act

Ah ok, in Australia we don't get anywhere near as much Liga coverage but do get every EPL game live.

same in Canada. But I do think Costa will shine in the EPL. Only time will tell, but he has the tools to succeed and I think we have a team that can feed him the balls he'll need. I'm feeling positive about this signing.

Why did you add this to RFC_CFC's quoted post:

So it looked like he had posted it? In addition referring 'downs' as a degrading aspect of someone's life is pretty pathetic. Not sure we want your type around here.

Screen shot added for future reference.

Never even noticed he had done that Gem.

Hopefully people realised I'd never say that about anyone let alone someone that plays for us.

I doubt anyone would think that about you, when I saw it I knew it was a made up 'quote'. I wanted to bring it up publically as I’m sure others are interested why he [or she] would make such a remark.

I Openly admitted after Costas goal this pre season that I was wrong and he looks the real deal.

I'm delighted I can say that as we all want the best players at the club.

I guarantee not one fan has been right about all players we have signed, I thought we had massively overspent of Frank Lampard for instance.......yeah i know.

Should be banned for that! Disgraceful

You're right, I was going to wait for an answer in case he had a medical condition that made him act like a prick but it's probably just his personality.

Anyway, back to Costa.

I've hardly been around here this summer but every time I've paid a visit all people seem to want to do is b*tch at one another. What's going on? Only a week til the season starts guys, keep it together!

RE: Costa - Really pleased with what I've seen so far from him. Aside from his two obviously brilliant goals, I've been really impressed with his workrate. He looks hungry and eager to prove himself. He's linked up the play nicely and times and held it up well too. Appears to have a decent rapport with Fabregas as well, long may it continue. I was really skeptical about him beforehand, still am a little bit, but I'm quite encouraged with what I've seen.

Let's so how he does once the live bullets start flying.

I will hold my hand up as a person who was concerned about his personality before he was signed but I have to admit his fire has excited me so far this preseason. Most of the time players seem to be going through the motions in preseason as they work their way into match fitness but Costa has been a spark plug since the first minute. You can tell he takes each minute on the pitch seriously. That fire could see us through some of the drearier days of winter.

His rapport with Fabregas is also exciting. It is just preseason but so far I like what i am seeing.

Looks like the real deal and the best thing about it is he seems to be in song with Fabregas.

At the moment he seems to be a player in our squad who isn't afraid of the box. Only Hazard, Schurrle and our defenders dare to do things inside the box. If you look at some of our games last season we played really well until our attack reached the opposition box. After that most of our guys forgot how to shoot or pass. Not just Torres but Oscar and Willian as well.

Diego is very direct and he dares to take on opponents in a very bold way. I think a lot of opponent defenders will see nightmares of him after this season. He has skill but his attitude is Chelsea and not Arsenal for example where everyone's polite. I like the Chelsea attitude better.

Exactly. After our more than lacklustre and soulless finish last season, I am happy we have someone who means business when he's on the pitch. Could inspire us should we ever find ourselves lethargic again in, say, a semi-final of the Champions League.
