Was hoping that was already put to bed with his double at the Bridge not long ago...although I do concede that was a friendly.

After the Swansea and United game it really does show preseason performances mean nothing.

Costa has looked good for us but in competitive matches it will be good to see him get off the mark early on because for us fans it will mean we won't have to read the flop accusations etc.

Costa doesn't seem like a guy whose confidence is easily knocked so its more for our peace of mind than his.

Great start for Costa in blue, should have had a penalty as well. 

Chuffed he got of the mark tonight, already looking the better for having him as a focus of the attacks.

Feeling confident about him.

I wonder if we can appeal his yellow card?

 

His Succsessful passes has to be 90%+, didn't see him send a misplaced one to be honest.

It's the FA, if we appeal he will likely be banned for an additional 9 matches

I think he had a good game, not helped by the ref who was very harsh on him, aside from the obvious balls up with the penalty/dive decision, he also gave quite a few soft free kicks to Burnley's CB's whenever Diego tried to muscle his way into aerial challenges.

 

Hopefully this isn't a sign that he's got a target on his back from refs.

He scored, i didnt think he would being the eternal pessimist but he did! Thankfully.

 

I dont like how deep her drops, leaves us with nobody up top and schurrle filled in a few times.
