Apart from his appalling reffing of the 2010 WC final, more often or not he was a damn good ref.

Solid ref most of the time, definitely one of the stronger and better officials of the Premier League era.

Other than the whole Fergie time nonsense he'd pull, he was a pretty solid ref week in and week out. There were a few games last year where he just refused to call fouls and pen's but overall he was pretty good. 

 

Not really sure who's the best ref now. Hopefully someone will come up through the ranks and make a good showing this year.

Aside from United games he was generally pretty good. From memory he did ref that 3-3 draw at the Bridge where we were winning 3-0 and United got 2 pens in the 2nd half though, f**king knob.

 

Still better than Chris Foy.
