Jason Roberts is appalled.

I'm not surprised, every time they need someone who has a negative opinion about Chelsea they always ask that twonk. I believe he commented on the JT/Anton situation AND the Paris row.

I wouldn't mind if they picked a really good footballer to ask but no they ask a mediocre footballer who always has way too much for himself. Wish he would just do one.

The English footballing media are far more comfortable writing about issues or personalities surrounding the game than the actual game itself. This is because most of them know very little about the game  and how it pans out tactically.Read any newspaper match report and you will see very little written about the actual match itself yet plenty about what the managers/star players said or are up to.In every other serious footballing nation this Jose/Eva issue would not have been given air time.Benitez said he received more questions about tactics in one week in Naples than he did the whole season in England, tells us a lot about our football media.

Well perhaps José should tell Eden not to stay down if he isn't injured.

Personally I think José has made us look like a spiteful little club.

We are bigger than that, and bigger than Mourinho.

Hey!!!

I'm hurt :)

There is an element of that, but I still think there would be a fuss, having a go at a medic who has been summoned on by the ref is just ludicrous, and because of José's very high profile, something that he encourages, it gets full on media attention.

So there we have it, the only real issue has only ever been about Eva and John’s rushing onto the field of play to treat Edin, much to the annoyance of the boss at the time - yet, because it is [specifically] him and [crucially] her, it became a mistake of biblical proportions by Jose, brought about by the wrath of a God-like British Media. Everyone knows that if Eva had been male there would have been none of this fuss whatsoever, no social media outrage, no reply on Facebook thanking the masses for their support, and life would have carried on pretty much as normal with just a paragraph or two in the press about how Jose had criticised medical staff for running on to the pitch in a vain attempt to [typically] deflect criticism over the loss of a couple of points.

Then instead, being that it’s Chelsea and fuelled by universal dislike of us, we get a situation where Jose is criticised for berating a female employee in public, leaving the club with little option but to remove her from the bench, for the simple reason that at every match day the Press would have been watching the two of them like hawks before a swoop on their prey - make no mistake, it is they who have cost them this short-term demotion. In short, this has escalated from a molehill row into a mountainous media-fest, but in reality it is what it is: an internal staff issue, best resolved by the parties involved.

.

you, if José had kept it internal, there would be no fuss.

But he made it very public

Unfortunately Jose was asked the question publicly so he blurted out what he was thinking, if he gives a terse no comment for the rest of the season He will get fined.

I have never given less of a f**k about a situation in my entire life.

The Mail online are somehow managing to produce about 4 stories a day on the topic and all sorts of people/organisations have weighed in with their (pretend) outrage.

I hear Jason Roberts is appalled.

But seriously..... if Eva was a middle aged bald man nobody would give a sh*t.... just like all the outraged people have forgotten to give a sh*t about Jon Fearn (who?).

its not about her being a female at all

All the criticism has been about José having a go at the medics who were actually summoned on by the ref.

He should tell Hazard to get up off his arse if he isn't injured instead of staying down.

The media has made it about Eva being female; are they jumping up and down about Jon?

he kept his head down, the coward, Eva argued back.

The Medical Association didn't mention her sex.

Or her size.

I think everyone knows Eva anyway, no one knows Jon.

Either way, José was out if order, I hope it doesn't affect the team, apparently José is going to be the bucket and sponge man against City just to show the medics how its done.

In truth, you really think this, whereas methinks the incident was always going to take place in the public domain (these games of football always are) but now it is best dealt with as an internal staff matter.

I don't think they ignored his first signal, they may have responded right away, or his signals were spread apart in a matter of a few seconds. Who cares? The fact is, they did what they were supposed to do, which is their job.

I don't know where you get the idea that there were hundreds of identical cases, where this medical staff or any other refused to attend to a player on the pitch when signaled by the referee. I've never seen or heard of such situations, but I'd be interested, if there were actual precedents.

I was refering to the hundreds of thousands of times a player goes down with no need for medical aide, not the ref indicating bit.

Perhaps a revision to the rule should be made then, that if the ref is the one to signal on the medics then the player does not have to stand on the sidelines.  Again, it seems silly that the team who suffers the injury/knock gets punished and not the team who causes it.... the root cause of Mourinho's outburst, that his team was punished for something it shouldn't of been.

Personally I feel like she brings an improved shape to the team.

Best formation Ive seen on the pitch in a long time.

the ref asks the player if he requires the medics.

Eden must have said, "yes please".

What I don't understand is Eden staying down when he wasn't injured and we were down to 10 men.

Why didn't José have a go at him ?

Is it cos he's a bloke ?

Well you run around for 85 minutes and then I'll come and knee you in the ribs/mid-section and see how fast you get up.  Getting the wind knocked out of you, especially when you've been cynically fouled a bit through those 90 minutes already, puts you in a position where you dont just spring back on your feet.

the games takes place in public.

Any problems should be sorted out in private, especially this, which should never have been an issue in the first place, only José saw a chance to deflect blame away from his decision making and tactical flaws.

I'd have been straight up mate, no doubt about about it. Put me in a blue shirt and pay me millions, getting "the wind knocked out of me" wouldn't keep me down.
