Chelsea to take part in International Champions Cup

Chelsea will be among a group of elite football clubs taking part in this summer’s International Champions Cup in North America.

The Blues are among 10 teams signed up to take part in the tournament, with each of our matches shown live on Chelsea TV (UK and Ireland only).

Fixture details and locations will be announced on April 28 at a tournament press conference in New York, but a list of participating teams from across Europe, Mexico and the USA is below:

Chelsea

Barcelona

Club America

Fiorentina

LA Galaxy

Manchester United

New York Red Bulls

Paris Saint-Germain

Porto

San Jose Earthquakes

Chelsea Chairman Bruce Buck said: ‘I am delighted the club will take part in the International Champions Cup this summer, against top-quality opposition.

‘We look forward to returning to North America for the eighth time in 12 years, and visiting some iconic venues in which I am sure there will be strong Chelsea support.

‘We know the facilities we use will be second to none and Jose and the squad will be able to prepare for what already promises to be an exciting 2015/16 campaign. I am also pleased to confirm we will be continuing the important work of the Chelsea Foundation during our visit.’

As with all our Here to Play, Here to Stay pre-season trips, Foundation coaches will accompany the squad, organising a series of community projects as part of our commitment to grass roots football development in the region.

Ticket news for all our pre-season fixtures will appear here on the official Chelsea website once it becomes available.

'Club America'

How... American.

Club América aka Las Águilas are the Biggest club in North America. The Club is based out of Mexico City, but they have a huge ass fanbase. You might remember CFC played them in the opening of The Dallas Cowboys Stadium back in 2009 - I tell you what if CFC comes to Cali, I will be their representing!!!

Post season trip to Japan looks more likely now I would imagine.

Hitting the Asian and the North American markets in one summer.

If we play against Fiorentina maybe Salah can play 45 minutes for both teams... Run down blind allies in the blue of Chelsea hitting shots hopelessly high wide and over. Transform into the Egyptian Messi for the team in purple and score an hat trick against his parent club.

I might cheer on the San Jose Earthquakes as a second club. I like the cheery reverse psychology :-)

Love it.

I look forward to the scum renaming themselves the  Liverpool Found Not Guiltys.
