The first XI or "untouchables" as they are being hailed, are simply not living up to their billing. Courtois, Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Hazard, Fabregas, Costa, Willian etc are ALL playing well below the level expected by JM and the fans. That is why we have failed so dismally in the first two games. It literally is history (City !) repeating itself. The Club felt that as defending Champions, they did not need to do much in the transfer window - how wrong they were !! So again we kept most of the dead wood (Mikel, Cuadrado, Moses) possibly because nobody wanted them.

 

The squad does not have a lot of depth really and we really do not have the undeniable quality in our youngsters coming through from the Academy (I might exempt Traore from that). The rest I genuinely do not feel are yet good/strong enough for the Premier League and it looks as though JM feels the same. 

 

No major signings save for Falcao to replace an ageing Drogba, Begovic to replace Cech and now Rahman to replace Luis meaning that the squad is a year older and completely un-refreshed and un-strengthened. This will turn out to be a catastrophic mistake if we fail to make the Top 4 this year.

Just putting this out there as it isnt beyond the realms of possibility, but what if Baba Rahman is the last incoming deal?

If he is the last bit of business then Jose must start looking at the likes of Traore, Moses, Kennedy, RLC and the likes because what we have now isn’t enough clearly.

Players are not at the levels needed and knowing they are a first pick must be making them complacent.

Drop the likes of Ivan, Cesc and Willian then bring in some of the hungrier lads and that might give the team a boost and the usual first team a kick up the bum.

Leeway on Costa because of this chronic hamstring issue. Not really his fault. A lot of the rest though are out of form 

I wonder about lorc Remy. He seems to be behind falcao, and Charlie Austin has not moved yet. I wonder if Jose is looking for a buyer for Remy with Austin his possible replacement.

For what its worth, i do think we will add 1 or 2 more. Was just a "what if" question.  Daily Mail reckon Woodward is in Spain to try and sort Pedro deal but our interest is complicating things
