Riyad Mahrez

Very impressed but we very rarely give lesser name players a chance. If he doesn't cost 30 odd mill, he will find it hard to get games here ahead of Hazard, Oscar, willian, and pedro.

To be fair something we could really use is a left-footed AM that can play on the right. Mahrez can also take set pieces as well which would help given that we don't have a single left footer that can take a free kick. I like how Mahrez will fearlessly take players on rather than checking back like many of our AM's instinctively do.

He's done well, still needs to improve certain areas. In the first half v Villa he held onto the ball far too long and made poor decisions, one of which lead to Villa's goal.

Still, he's better than most wingers in the league and he's very versatile.

Clearly a decent player who has improved since last season, but his decision-making is still a bit iffy and his defensive contribution is questionable (although I suppose as Leicester's star attacking player he has more freedom than he would have here). Last season it was evident that he was talented, but I wasn't particularly convinced by him; I think he has a tendency to be too selfish (again, that might be the 'star man' effect) and when Leicester aren't on the front foot he will sometimes disappear from the game.

I'd be curious to see how he performs in a more possession-oriented side rather than one which attacks as directly as Leicester do, but at the very least I think he needs another season as the big fish in a [relatively] small pond before we go near him. If we're looking at any Leicester players I would hope it would be Kanté; he is Maka-esque (and not just in appearance).

I don't think we should sign him (although if he continues to play as well as he has this season someone surely will) but he is definitely better than Moses now.
