Seems to me one of our problems was the failure in signing John Stones . JT's reign is coming to an end if not this season surely next.

 

Needless to say the man has been/is an absolute giant for us, so who is out there who can go some way to replacing him. And who should be captain ??

Positionally probably Stones if we can sign him. But as a Captain I don't think there is anyone. He's irreplaceable, I guess it's about finding the right player(s) who can have a similar influence.

Agreed, although it doesn't mean a team can't be great. I'd still say United haven't replaced Roy Keane but they've had great success.

Next summer, CB become priority.. Need to find someone with experience & leadership ability like calvalho, terry, vidic etc to guide both cahil & zouma..

not sure whether he has moved or not but matt hummel would be a good option..

We could get him from real in a swap deal for hazard, if he ends up there.

Sorry what I meant was we will never have another JT, same way we'll never have another Dennis Wise. We will for sure have other great Captains but they'll never be copies of past players. If that makes sense.

The dream is Varane, although I'm not holding my breath.

 

Stones would also be fantastic, hopefully we can eventually get Everton to play ball. If Stones handed in a transfer request then he at least seems to be on board with the idea.
