Some people pick holes in everything.

Bandwagon? Christ just enjoy a big win with some excellent goals amidst a season of sh*t.

That's more like it. If we can impose ourselves like that on a regular basis then our worries are over. Some great performances and beautiful link play. I guess being three up before 20 minutes are gone does improve confidence! Only downsides are Terry's injury and (in my eyes) a terrible Hazard performance - at times he looked like he was going through the motions. Hope I'm wrong and he shows up in Paris.

who said I didn't enjoy it? am I not allowed to rate the performance and have a different view than others? are you an idiot? I think you are from my humble opinion.. take your own medicine..

I'd rather not be in Europe at all than go into the Europa league.

Thursday night football would be a real drain on our league season in 2016/17

The positive though would be if we played the youth more in that competition, gives them valuable game time and against European opposition.

This and Palace, the only two near full games where we have looked like the old Chelsea.

We need to see this more often, not just once in a while against under-performing teams or being inspired by the thought of a glamour CL tie up next.

Couple more wins on the trot, finally winning two games on the spin in the league, and we can close up to Watford and be in the top 10.

On this game, Pedro at his best and then the Pedro we have seen most of the year. Cesc superb, delighted for Traore, hope he progresses from this.

Because I use comparison, there were a couple of sloppy breakdown in link up play, it's not as accurate as it should be, personally I think the game against sunderland was better.. Newcastle were also sh*t in the game, they lost far too much possession as well as 50/50 duels.. The great thing of this game is probably our finishing, it's clinical..

Well, anyway it's our biggest victory in the league since God knows how long so I understand the bandwagon.. Of course there were lot of positives from the game, the proper fullback in action, 1 DM , youth chance & goal, a newcomer brace and lots of goals, all happened at the same time and against the zebra too, it's a sweet victory..

Your whole basis for saying the performance wasn't great, is that there were a couple of sloppy moments in link up play? Admittedly there was, but the mistakes came when we trying to be positive for a change and there were a lot of positives in this game.

I dare to say we are safe from relegation after results this weekend, we will probably get to 7 or 8th by the end of the season. Regardless how poor Newcastle was, I thought we played with lots of flair, precision and energy. We had opposition like this early in the season ( e.g. Villa or Norwich), we barely crossed the line. Credit to Hiddink sent out an attacking team, I know it's easy choice but we all know how stubborn managers could be. We finally have more than 2 players in form at once, should be an interesting few weeks ahead.

Hiddink set the team up to attack early on so we didn't have to push too hard late on.  This is what we should do all the time! Usually this season if we do score an early/first goal we then sit back - what was it at the weekend that made us continue attacking? Is it mental or just the instructions from the manager?  I still believe the team from early last season is still there somewhere and we should be steamrolling teams more often.

Its often said teams that are quick out of the blocks seem to continue the tempo throughout the match, where as I think we've been too slow and only start playing once we go behind eg. Man U.  Maybe I'm still dwelling on the Utd game but I feel they have been there for the taking over the last few seasons and we've given a poor Utd side too much respect and as Sunderland proved if you get in Utds face they can't handle it.  We give teams too much respect and don't trust our selfs.  I think we'll have the same issue vs PSG, sitting back and inviting pressure.

The positive is we finally battered a team, been a long time since I felt that feeling of being comfortable before half time.  Fabregas and Costa where back to their best, hopefully Hazard can follow and we can have an enjoyable end to the season.

Your 'whole basis' claim is based on what I've just written and obviously that's not sufficient to explain my case, maybe I'm guilty for not being clear.. A little breakdown in link up play is nothing but I've seen game where we were a lot more accurate in that area with more meaningful penetration and intelligent possession, just not as clinical unfortunately.. I didn't see enough of those in the game to warrant a great performance, just for the sake of performance wise but it's still a good performance nevertheless as the scoreline suggests.. And now if you want to say the goals are more than make it up for it then I have nothing to say against that, I just tend to rate performance separately from the goals..

I think nobody is going to argue that there were a lot of positives in the game like I've mentioned in my previous posts somewhere and that includes the manager which is a good thing..
