I love the match day thread!! I think we should get people to read post match and guess if we've won or lost.

Seriously ? By that measure people like Bale, are utter crap, Infact more than 50% of the goal scorers anywhere are utter crap cos more than 50% of the goals scored are not always form 1 on 1 with the keeper. It seems like you have an unusually high standard for what creating chances is.

For substitution of Batshuayi, He is the manager and he is entitled to start who ever he feels like. Maybe he wanted to introduce Batchuayi slowly into the league, maybe he thought our offense was trying enough but were not lucky or needed more time and given the 1 - 0 situation that we had, there was no need to make a substitution for the sake of making one. Only he knows what his reasoning was. But the fact remains that he made the substitutions and they had the positive impact that was needed.

Fair enough on your opinion to just concentrate on Chelsea and ignore the other teams form. But you have to consider that based on last year's table, West Ham is  a better team and hence were going to be a tougher opposition (Also, holding on to their players, another year under the same manager and having players like Payet) so it is not going to be easy for us to dominate them, so for us to get a victory, even if they were not upto your standards is still a big thing.

Your bale crap analogy loses me...  A player who can score out of nothing would get more credit, how it would become crap in your book, I have no idea..  seems like you have unsually way of rating a player..

BTw, do you agree when I said we didn't create any clear cut chance? you do realize that I have been talking about clear cut chance as opposed to just regular chance, don't you?

Christ are you still rattling on about this nonsense?

First game of the season, we won and we deserved to win.

Granted, on another day Costa might have been sent off. But then on another day, neither Costa nor Kante would have been booked earlier by an over-zealous, inconsistent referee.

Oh and on another day West Ham wouldn't have been granted the chance to score their equaliser.

And a clear cut chance can be defined as one where the attacker can reasonably be expected to score, as opposed to a half chance, which isn't... quite so clear cut.

So do us a favour, give it a rest eh.

I think we didn't create any clear cut chance and an official skyport match report tend to agree with me so what's the problem? Oh the problem is that it's different to your own interpretation and you can't accept it because if you can, this wouldn't have happened..

For the record, I made 1 match review in a match day thread so don't make it sound as if I make a repeatable critic post, the rest are only a responded messages to those old fashion people who can't seem to accept the fact that there are people who don't follow their so called old fashion interpretation.. in case you haven't noticed, I've been only defending my view to the likes of you lot so why so agressive?

'Give it a rest'? that's something you people should do in the 1st place.. what an irony.,.

You wouldn't get a joke if it stood up and slapped you. ( I guess that counts as abuse!)

Blimey, I was going along with your joke. Calm yourself down fella.

You mean like Diego Costa who created that shot out of nothing and scored, right ? That is where you and the rest of us are having opposing views. I can not accept your definition and you cannot accept ours - So we can agree to disagree and call it a truce if that is cool with you.

Now based on your definitions of clear cut chance - you are right we did not. What you are however doing is comparing this team with the title winning team that did attack and attack and created chances. Based on that standard we are not there yet. However, last year we were smacked around. We were leaking goals, our confidence was shattered, our offense sputtered. We were terrible - The rest of EPL had strengthened. Teams that were boring mid-table wanderers were suddenly stronger. Those wins were no longer guaranteed. That with our horrible form meant that we were no longer the same force we once where. Right now we still have the same team, We have strengthened a bit. We have the same opposition, but they too have strengthened a bit.

We cant just jump into the dominant form. It has to be baby steps to get better slowly but steadily, And we are in the right path. Taking all that into account isnt it good to see the team maintain more possession ? Attack consistently (if not creating 'clear cut chances'), defend diligently and play with a purpose ? So, why the negativity ?

It's never about player's rating based on how they score their goal in this argument though but it's the difinition of clear cut chance, a classification between normal regular  chance and golden chances..  like you said i have my view and you poeple have yours, agree to disagree is always cool with me but some people here just seem upset & angry when someone have different view from theirs.. For the record I didn't force my view onto other nor I shame other's view even though I was tempted, can't say the same to some on here though...

As for my so called negativity for the game, it's just a match review on this particular game, surely there were negative and positive in a match.. is it an omen to address both issues during matchday?  must we wait until we lose a game before we can bring out those issues? even conte said himself there's still improvement so what's the big issue?

Btw, on a separate case, regarding west ham, based on paper, we're a lot better than them, it shows that's why we're 3rd favorite to win the league and they are nowhere to be seen in the list..  During the game their record signing went off injured very early  and their best player only came late in the game and we're playing at home.. All that considered, we only barely managed to beat them with last minute strike and some leniency from the referee hence my concern...
