I have the vague memory from The Season That We're Trying To Forget that we started on a Monday night as well. We drew, and after that it may have been the only time that season we were in 8th position or so :-(

I'd love to get down to The Bridge, believe me. However  I'm working that night.

Can't remember if it was first game of the season but we did play them in a Friday because of the carnival think it was 2-2

It was our second match in the 2002-2003 season. It was 2-2.

At the end of last season (actually wayyyy before the end) I was totally fed up with football and Chelsea, and heaved a sigh of relief when it was over. And now I'm crossing off the days for the agony and the extasy to start again :-)

Although mixed with doubt now: is it extasy or extacy? Can't be bothered to look it up.

Can't wait for the game. Meet up with some people I haven't seen since the last game of last season. A few pints in the pub before hand and then off to the Bridge. For those looking for tickets there have been some returns:

We have had some tickets returned for our opening Premier League fixture against West Ham United which are now back on sale to members. 
 

Friday 5 August: Members can purchase one ticket per person.

Tuesday 9 August ONLINE ONLY: Season ticket holders and members can purchase an extra two tickets (maximum of three in total).

Cuadrado will mark him out of the game. Gobby Rubber Chomsky said so.

We play this game after we know other's results so we know how much to get to the top from the get go.. 1st game should tell us something..

Kante to boss the game, Bats to score his first, Hazard to get a brace, WHU will pull one back late on 3-1 win. KTBFFH

With the defence we have we need 2 DMs. Kante was left to do a lot of work in the 2nd half. Just makes you think that as poor as matic has been, its not all his fault.

Chelsea (4-1-4-1): Begovi?; Aina ©, Miazga, Ivanovi?, Cuadrado; Oscar; Willian, Mati?, Kanté, Hazard; Traoré

Subs: Blackman, Terry, Cahill, Moses, Costa, Batshuayi, Kenedy

Prediction: Chelsea 0-2 West Ham United

So, a different, almost ridiculous, team to play West Ham. Ola Aina to captain the team on debut? Miazga in? Cuadrado at left back? No Terry or Cahill in the starting 11? No Fábregas in the squad? To cap everything off, we go down to West Ham 2-0 on the opening day. Sod that. The crystal ball is going to be wrong...

Remember, this is not my opinion or what I hope will happen. It's just a bit of fun.

Well, after looking at our pre-season I think we're on the positive way. Most of our squad is fit and ready to play, Conte has a lot of options to play and it's good, it means we have a good rotation in the squad. I also looked at West Ham's pre-season and they disappointed, anyways those games don't really matter because they're only for fitness improvement. I believe Conte already gave our players new motivation, new target to achieve, new season begins and we have to be at our best.

 

As I see this, Conte will play the most experienced lineup, I honestly ready to give a chance to Aina and Chalobah, if we will afraid to put them on games on that level, then I don't know how we will let them success here.

 

I'd like to see this starting line-up:
