Coral Snake got a reaction from Spiller86 in The 'oldies' who would you keep?Bakayoko, Zappacosta, Drinkwater
-
Coral Snake reacted to GarnachoCheese in David Luiz back at ChelseaIf you're wanting to get rid of one of either Rudiger or Luiz i'd drop Luiz in a heart beat. Rudiger is our best CB and should be untouchable atm.
-
Coral Snake reacted to Delnino in Callum Hudson-OdoiOdoi was very good in the first half, I'd go as far as saying he was our best attacking threat

Coral Snake got a reaction from dR3 in Pre-SeasonAnd pissing it down. Very steep price too

Coral Snake reacted to Michael in Pre-SeasonLike others have said, the three big ticks for that first half have been Hudson-Odoi, Barkley and Jorginho. It may only be against Perth, but Jorginho looks so classy in midfield. Happy for Barkley as well. I know a lot of people weren't too thrilled with his signing, but there's no doubting his talent and if Sarri can get the best out of him he could be a massive asset to us. And, of course, it's always great to see a kid take his chance, and CHO has certainly done that!
-
Coral Snake reacted to Total-Football in Pre-SeasonGreat strength and speed from Hudson-odoi there. Beautiful ball as well but Pedro just couldn't get to it.
Agreed on Alonso. Looks very awkward and out of place in a high line. Clearly dislikes defending with space behind him.

Coral Snake reacted to axman2526 in Olivier Giroud to ChelseaThink he is a cracking player who makes the team play better. We would be nuts to let him go.

Coral Snake reacted to youlots in N'golo Kante - We are not worthy! Not only that but he'd missed some training sessions after the Belgium game after taking a knock so he obviously was labouring somewhat (not that you'd really notice whilst he was on). It occurred to me whilst watching the 1st half that DDs gameplan was to let Croatia have most of the ball and just to absorb the pressure so as to tire Croatia (who of course had 1 days less rest) & of course this meant even more work for little N'Golo. Any ways DD did the sub at the right-time and the rest is history. How lucky we are to have N'Golo.

Coral Snake reacted to Slojo in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerThere is no controlling a player like Costa, I'll back Conte over him any day.

Our teams not very good. Simple as that. This is compounded by our recent transfer which have actively weakened the side.
Matic is squad player quality for a top European club. We replace him with Bakayoko who is absolutely terrible with very little redeeming qualities.
Costa is a good European striker. Roughly in the same bracket as Aubameyang and Higuain below the best. Morata has potential to be better but doesn't look like he even wants to play for Chelsea.
Rudiger was a decent CB in Italy. Not a standout player by any means and not even the best CB at Roma.
Drinkwater is mid table squad player level who had one good season. He wouldn't even make the bench for Man City.
Zappacosta. Mid table Serie A player.
Palmieri. Injured constantly.
Barkley. Mid table first team player. Top 4 bench player at best.
Alonso. Star player for mid table sides. Squad player for a top European club.
David Luiz. Bench player for PSG when we bought him. Was decent in Ligue 1 but shown up at the higher levels.
Kante. Only world class player we have bought who could make most teams.
Giroud. Bench player for Arsenal.
Then let's look at the rest of the team:
Hazard: World Class.
Courtois: Very good. Overrated and stagnated as a player.
Fabregas: World class 5 years a go. Now a good squad option off the bench.
Willian: Squad player. Blows hot and cold and is a bit dumb with the ball.
Pedro: Squad player for Barca. Now much worse and would ba rely make their bench.
Moses: Couldn't make West Hams team. At best a bench player for a top four side.
Christensen: Potential world class player. Still a long way to go but a decent first team option.
Cahill: Mid table at best.
The team is really lacking in actual first team quality for a side that wants to compete and win trophies.

Hello Blue Army ! First Champions League knockout stages in London for me. Do you know where I could watch the game ? I study in South Ken and anything in Chelsea, Fulham, ... would be great. I'm looking for a great Blue atmosphere and chants

Coral Snake reacted to Dappydoris in Chelsea V WBA (PL) Mon 12th Feb 20:00 UKIf you supported Chelsea through the brutal dark days of the 1970’s then you would know the blip we just gone through means nothing.....This season is over, I don’t expect us to do anything and I hope Antonio stays to see the rebuild for next season.
-
Coral Snake reacted to Nibs in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerOf course you would, as you are clearly in the "Conte should go" camp just as I am in the camp who still think he's the best man for the job.
I know there are many examples of a new man coming in and giving sides a lift, but that is often because they are replacing poor coaches with better. I honestly don't see better out there and available and it would be a case of "change for changes sake".

Coral Snake reacted to coco in Your unpopular opinion about ChelseaYou're 'disgraced' that he's being ostracised for his beliefs, are you disgraced that he's earning a good living, in a country that is free because of those people we like to remember when wearing the poppy ?

Coral Snake reacted to Barry Bridges in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerIt is no tough or brave thing to to go against a CFC manager during a bad run of results/performances. Quite frankly if rumours are true, it highlights the cowardice and not the leadership present in our dressing room.

Coral Snake reacted to Celery1989 in Our New StadiumThis is controversial and perhaps I'm overly dejected about the current state of the Club, Antonio Conte's future etc...But I'm genuinely beginning to wonder whether there is any real sense in building this new stadium. Obviously, CFC would make more matchday revenue from ticket sales, megastore purchases etc, but that's becoming less relevant season after season given the gargantuan tv deals and corporate sponsorships which the clubs receive. Also, I'm beginning to wonder if the Club's relative frugality in the transfer market these days is directly linked to the future financing of the new stadium. It seems like Abramovich's plans for the stadium are very expensive and as a result we can no longer compete for the elite players in the market; We are clearly falling behind Man United and Man City in this sense, and I worry that what happened to Arsenal from 2006-2012 could easily happen to us if there were large debts which would need to be repaid. Lastly, as a current Season Ticket Holder, I think spending 3 seasons at Wembley/The London Stadium would be truly awful in so manys ways and I fear that our core, matchgoing support would diminish at a faster rate than it currently is at the moment.
As I say, perhaps I'm being overly pessimistic in light of the current situation at the club, but I just don't see the new stadium making a lot of sense.

Coral Snake got a reaction from shedpensioner in Your unpopular opinion about ChelseaJust to clear up the Lamps situation. It was the underhand nature of the deal which stunk....... His Uncle and Father have previous.
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jan/09/manchester-city-error-frank-lampard-new-york-city-fc-deal
Lampard’s arrival at City was a surprise given the statement he made on 27 July on “joining” NYCFC. “I didn’t want to play anywhere else in England because I had been so affiliated with one club,” he said. “So it made sense for me to move.”
