August 23, 20178 yr After Sunday's game, I looked into our head-to-head with Spurs. Since Feb 1990 when we lost to them (when Lineker Scored in the last minute), Spurs have beaten Chelsea 7 times in all competitions. 7 times in 27 years (soon to be 28) and 66 games. Chelsea have won 37 times (all lucky of course). Before the cup game last season, Alan Shearer said "if anyone knows how to beat Chelsea, it's Spurs!" Hmmm...ok Alan you complete bell end. I just wanted to ask what have been your favourites since 1990? Mine would be: 3-2 in 1990 when Lineker ballooned his pen. One of the first matches I vividly remember as a young kid. Dixon, Bumstead and Durie for Chelsea. 3-1 away in 1991 when Durie got terrorised by the away following. Wilson got a great goal. 4-3 in 1994 when Mark Stein got a last minute penalty which hit the stanchion (old skool reference that. Like white dog poo and space hoppers) 3-1 in 1996 after Matthew Harding died 6-1 at 3PL in 1997 2-1 Gallas the game after Ossie had passed away 5-1 at Wembley in 2012 4-2 at Wembley last season They're the best in my opinion. August 24, 20178 yr The two 4-nils, just days apart, only six weeks after losing our unbeaten run against them with that horrendous 5-1 drubbing when Gus did his little twirl. The second one for the most perfect hat trick from JFH but the first one at the Lane was my favourite. They came out kicking in that game convinced the hoodoo was over and they would do us again (check the highlights if you can find them, some absolutely appalling challenges went in and Spurs should have been at least a man down before the end of the first half, it was terrible refereeing). It was brutal and it was a battle before our class shone through. Great goals and a great win but mostly what an atmosphere! Proper old school away game at the Lane with some brilliant chants - "6 weeks, it's only been 6 weeks" in reference to our annually increasing "It's only been 9 years" or "It's only been 10 years" songs. But my favourite was the famous "Normal service has resumed". Looking back on it we really put them back in their place and it might be fair to wonder whether our record against them since would have been quite as good had we not slapped them down again that week.
November 25, 20178 yr Tottenham v Chelsea 20/10/12 KO 12:45 BS - 2-4 Chelsea with the Mata Brace - that era of CFC made me the happiest - RDM gaffer - Champions of Europe & I attended a match on 10/22/2012 vs Stoke City + I got to sing 'We know who we are - Champions of Europe - we know who we are' - everything was going great up until that match vs manure @ home - phucking refs robbed us & after that we got fsw as the gaffer
November 27, 20178 yr The 6-1 at the lane, didnt go but had just played and was standing with 3 Tottenham supporting team mates as the result came through. two 4-0 games- had watched the 1-5 just before and was fuming after Sherringham did Zenden early on and escaped punishment and their aggression generally went unchecked whilst ours did. So the 4-0 x2 felt great at the time. 5-1 and 4-2 cup games were great too in recent years The 0-0 followed by 3-0 at their place in the early 90s also stand out
November 27, 20178 yr Four off the top of my head. 6-1 at the Lane. 5-1 and 4-2 at Wembley. 2-2 at The Bridge as it ensured Leicester City the title in 2016.

The replay thinking about it would possibly be in my all time top 10 games attended, we won 3-0 at the laneq, Andy Townsend completely over run Gazza, and we cruised into the semi finals, we were Wembley bound......only Sheffield Weds in the semi!!!!! Typical Chelsea in those days, we got beaten home and away in the two legs, went to the home leg, Sunday lunchtime all ticket affair lost 2-0 the atmosphere was very flat at the bridge that day.

Another bonus was not only beating them 4-0 twice just after the 5-1 loss, but they went on to lose to Blackburn in the final when they were cock sure they would win it.

Thats right, those two Sheffield Wednesday Games were bloody awful I went to both the home game was particularly dissapointing with Townsend (who had eclipsed Gazza) being totally outplayed by Carlton bloody Palmer. And Im sure they got both goals from the same short corner/freekick routine. I was in the benches nursing a hangover like most others.
November 29, 20178 yr I was at both too and confident after Tottenham we were going to Wembley so disappointed up at Wednesday, a great crowd and after 10 minutes we were outplayed. Can't remember what went wrong though and could just not understand how we lost 3-0 to them.
December 1, 20178 yr 3-1 wasnt it? I seem to remember a consolation goal Graham Stuart I think?? I think we went up in the same car didnt we and after getting turned away from the pubs near the ground went into the city centre..cant believe its over 25 years ago!!
