The lads are through to the final after beating Porto on penalties. They will face either Man City or Barcelona, who both play later today. The final is on Monday at 4pm. I didn't see the game, but heard the Porto team were probably the better team over the 90 mins, but great for the young lads to fight for the win. 

Porto played well, a couple of our lads weren’t on their game, but we did enough. Porto had the opportunity to win it, but Jamie Cumming saved the pen, he saved 3 I think.

Seems to me we've got the physical players and Barca have the better footballing ones. Looks unlikely we'll win this to me. Although you can never really tell with these youth games.

Does look like Barca teach how to dive and con the ref at a very early stage in a player's  development, though.

They've had a couple good chances due to our errors, Barca kids don't seem to be clinical killers

1-0 Barca but plenty of time to come back, this Barca team can be opened up but we've yet to do that. 

Half Time. Looks like Barca play simple functional passing game but Chelsea like a bit of flair and individual quality, which helps beat a man quite easily at this level but there's no good final pass to set up a chance.

There's a difference between writing is of and saying it looks unlikely to me that we'll win. Also I've said that youth games are unpredictable. So I don't know where you got that from.

Youngsters taking notes from the senior team, passing it around at the back, mistake and Barcelona goal. 0-2. Probably game over.

2nd half we were so better but not clinical enough. McEachran and Hudson-Odoi were stand outs for me.

I didn't think CHO did much at all. Had a free kick hit the post, but other than that was tackled most times he tried to dribble. Overall, they were just better than us.

Disappointed with the result. Barcelona youth are very technically good though, they looked very good in the city game. It's a shame as city scored 3 goals against them with 10 men. Our youth side still have some quality players, but more that aren't that good. Hudson-odoi, redan, castillo, james, sterling and mccreachan are the standouts.

I think hudson-odoi is definitely the best od the bunch. Still, most of them are 17/18 years of age and will continue to learn. Now on to winning the utd game for the domestic championship. 

I forgot about this. Oh well, can't win them all. Hope the Youth Team do better in the FA Youth Cup final against Arsenal - two legs - this Friday and then return away leg on Monday.
