Club World Cup - December 2021 -Moved from Japan to Qatar?

Isn’t the whole ideal not to have it in Europe so the ‘big team’ has to go to a country that they wouldn’t normally play in?

It's the club WORLD cup so it obviously can't always be in Europe.

That said since they had to move it last minute I don't have a problem with moving it to Europe.  That's way better than the UAE.

Yes I know. My point is exactly that, it’s not playing in Europe to spread it to the more none traditional and/or ‘smaller’ footballing countries.

We have a big enough squad, there is no reason we need to postpone games. Assuming Mendy is still away at the ACoN. Have him join up with the group staying in England.

For example we could do:

Going to UAE:

Coach Thomas Tuchel

Goalkeepers:

Kepa

Bergstrom

Defenders:

Chalobah

Silva

Sarr

Humphreys

McClelland

Wingbacks:

James

CHO

Midfielders:

Jorginho

Kante

Saul

Uwakwe

Vale

Forwards:

Lukaku

Fiabema

Werner

Mount

Soonsup-bell

Group staying in England:

Coach: TT assistant Zsolt Low

Goalkeepers:

Bettinelli

Wady

Defenders:

Rudiger

Christensen

Mbuyamba

Brooking

Gilchrist

Wingbacks:

Dave

Alonso

Midfielders:

Kovacic

RLC

Barkley

Webster

McEachran

Baker

Forward:

Havertz

Pulisic

Ziyech

Nunn

Wareham

Not to mention we have several out on loan like Gallagher, Gilmour, Maatsen etc we could recall if we needed to.

More than enough to come with Brighton anr Arsenal. Would be very short sighted to postpone games whe  we have that much depth.

Chelsea drawn against Al Jazira, Auckland City or Al Hilal in SF

Be nice to face the new Zealand side Auckland rather than either of the Arab sides, and Monterray in the final would be nice too.

I'm sorry but that is a ridiculous idea. Even more so that you think we are in a top 4 battle again this season. Yes we have depth but that works in terms of rotating few players covering bad form and injuries. To split the squad in two therefore being under strengthen in both comps, we could easily lose both the cup and those league games.

I actually don’t think we will lose the Cup as we will only be facing a strong team in the finals. The Semis is pretty much a warm up game.

We will see about that top 4 battle, we are in a strong position for 3rd. I don't think it will be a difficult battle to stay there, just that we are going to lose our grip on top and second as pool and City will go on their big winning streaks and we won't be able to keep up.

Far as the squad split goes @ducavis sees what I am putting forward. Whoever we face in the semi is indeed a warm up game, and whoever we face in the final should be no match for the options I put forward especially with TT there to oversea it.

Is it a risk for the league and FA cup games? Sure however If we try and cram 2 league games and an fa cup game in we are just asking for it to hit our CL chance and give us more injuries.
