Harder & Eriksson to Bayern!

Recommended Posts

I think Eriksson has more than paid her dues (and tbf, is likely to be wholly replaced by Millie Bright) but it seems Harder was the one pushing for the move and it does leave a sour taste in the mouth, tbh. That said, both her goals and creativity have well and truly been replaced by Kerr, Kirby and Reiten.

Shame two club legends in the Womens game but they both wanted a new challenge and at Bayern it will be for them good luck let's hope Emma and the girls can win the league and FA Cup double first Up The Chels

Given the money they have spent on the mens side, and the women's game record transfer being less than a week of Messis wages, you would think Todd and co can give Emma 1million and she can land at least 3 top, top players to improve our squad.

I'm gutted about losing both to be honest. Always had a soft spot for Eriksson, i think she's a quality player. Harder should have been a Chelsea star in the making so its a massive shame.

Maybe Harder preferred the lifestyle in Germany so that is the reason for the move.

Certainly won't be a football based decision as, unlike the men's team, our women's side are one of the very best in the world.

Arguably only if Barca had come along would have I said they are making a tiny step up

Historically Bayern (and Wolfsburg, Lyon, PSG etc) are much bigger than the English club womens' teams, but that gap has well and truly narrowed. Chelsea and Arsenal being able to sign the likes of Perrisset and Miedema away from continental clubs is akin to mens EPL clubs starting to dominate La Liga and Serie A in the mid 00s transfer market - a seismic shift.

Barcelona are well above everyone else at the moment. The gap is closing but it will be awhile yet before they are dethroned.

Harder is midfield, while Beth and Sam are strikers @strider6004

Its not good at all that both Harder and Eriksson are off, but we can cover it! We managed ok during Harder’s injuries.

Millie for captain though, which should’ve always been the case I think!

Harder was signed as a striker, but the combination of her injuries, Kerr/Kirby's success and Hayes' general preference for lone-striker formations have all contributed to her probably not reaching her potential. Historically she's been an almost goal-a-game forward, and we never really saw that Harder at Chelsea bar a few runs here and there which were largely curtailed by injury.

Yeah we did not "let them go". The club and Emma wanted them to stay, Mags is our captain and both are key players. We tried to get them to stay and they wanted to move on as a life choice to go to Germany.
