November 13, 20232 yr And you're next opponents, after watching your display yesterday against City you were very very impressive. Some slick moves and desire. In my humble opinion you have very little to worry about going forward under Poch and you'll agree I'm sure, the fight for a top four position is going to be very congested. You're also very good to watch. Not expecting anything from our game unfortunately. Never mind, we'll see.
November 13, 20232 yr Strange because I actually said Newcastle would be the worst team we could possibly play two weeks ago. Just due to the styles, lethal on the counter, and very clinical. Newcastle's recent form and our own has made me a bit more confident but I wouldn't be shocked if we don't win. I still think this will be a very difficult match for us.
November 13, 20232 yr Author Victor our injury list is horrendous, 12 first teamers out. Will we have many back for our clash? I don't know but we'll really struggle if we don't. You confident about the rest of season? Reckon you'll get into Europe at least. 8 teams fighting for 4 Champions League places. Gonna be really tense. Feel Spurs will fall out the chase, Top 2 will be City and Liverpool in that order but the rest, pot luck. January gonna be really interesting.
November 13, 20232 yr One thing that is unsettling about the fixture is the International Break before, I think it has a habit of breaking the team's momentum, which I hope it doesn't. It feels like there has been one of these breaks a month since the season started! I think we'd both get a much better game if we didn't have one of these bastard breaks in the middle of it!
November 13, 20232 yr Things just tend to happen in football. Spurs bottling it against us, Brentford playing poor yet still win at the Bridge, and we hate going to Saint James Park. You can put your under 18s out and we will still suffer.

I'm far from one of the pessimistic people on this forum, but we do struggle against lowblocks. We'll no doubt out play you and have more possession but that doesn't win you games. If you watch all the games we lost in this season, you'll see the same pattern. I'm very happy with our recent performances, but I wouldn't write your team off just yet. I'm still not convinced we're efficient at breaking teams down who sit back and defend, I think we'll get there eventually, but we really lack the goals.
November 14, 20232 yr Author For once I'm pleased about the international break for obvious reasons. I like that speed merchant Mydric ( spe ) you have - hope I haven't jinxed things with us. He's absolute quality. I've done my thoughts on the game to death so will close by giving you my thoughts on a couple of things. Firstly, a very early prediction. 1 - 3. I also think you'll finish top four next year comfortably. Secondly, my views on VAR for what their worth. Be interesting to get your views. I'm 60, I know stupid old git ha ha, but am I the only one who's initial thoughts are after we've scored are " VAR will rule it out ". Shouldn't be the case. VAR taking out all the joy out of the game. I hope we get rid of it. Secondly my pet hate. All these players diving. Said to my boy the other day after seeing another player screaming before holding rolling around the deck his arm outstretched like he's really hurt, " son that would be funny if it wasn't so fckn pathetic ". I like a good tackle, part of the game and every tackle isn't a yellow. Not going to change people is it. My age showing and " part of the game " now I suppose. After our game, good luck for the rest of season.
November 14, 20232 yr If Newcastle need a win to restart their positive ways, you can almost bet your house on it that Chelsea can help out!!! Saying that, watching Chelsea is slowly becoming fun again after a horrific 18+ months going back to the sanctions. Slowly turning a corner on what always felt Iike a 3 year rebuild/restart. Should be a good game - Newcastle are an entertaining team to watch. Got 0-0 written all over it!

It's not really worth while us having a medical team. They never have anything to do.

Don't worry, we're usually pretty obliging to teams who need a boost to kick start their season after a poor run
