Cheers, time of the season to start looking at the longterm bets. Will call you Mysterious Ukraine Meg. Any predictions welcome.

I’ve gone for Chelsea to finish top 2 and win the FA cup. #believe

How old are you clown lake????

I doubt you was old enough to actually remember that yes while there was criticism back then it was pure jealousy mate.

Don’t you think these sports reporters have allegiances to the teams they support.

I doesn’t matter what articles you pull up, we were there we know what happened. This is why people are asking where were you?

I admire your moxie, but when your wrong your wrong.

You don’t need to know my exact age, but I have been a Chelsea supporter since 1996 - first live football game at the bridge.

That is exactly my point on the reporters. The same applies to our current owners, that is the exact point I am making.

The difference is the criticism back then wasn’t genuine. It was jealousy born out of our immediate and then sustained 20yrs of success.

This time round there are real reasons to criticise or at the very least ask WTF are they doing now.

Like I have said and others I feel Boehly does want on field success, not sure if certain others care. That should be a genuine concern for any CFC fan.The difference being RA only cared about that so the motivation behind his decisions were clear though not always correct.

I thought his treatment of Carlo and Butch was harsh, criticised it at the time but I knew it wasn’t to save money or anything like that (as reported at the time by some media)and the proof is in the pudding when it came to RA’s methods.

Nostalgia is a strange thing right, if this mob go on to create a dynasty then a lot will be forgotten and all forgiven. Probably.

I suppose it comes down to intention. You can accidentally kill someone and no crime is committed but if you mean too then…..

A lot of what they are doing is clearly money motivated, I know the football landscape has changes since 03 and all clubs are playing the FFP games but there is a certain arrogance about a we're going to show u how it’s done type of attitude.

We all hope it works but it’s also ok to worry it won’t, question what they are doing, criticise howling mistakes. And ur not going to make this lot look better by trying to make the previous regime look worse.

This either means you’re 35+ and moved to the States and have the temperament and IQ of a teenager or you’re just lying again…

Do we forget how much bashing we received when Roman initially arrived? He was called scatter gun and incompetent. Do we have a lack of memory on here?!?!

Also that was not the point you were making. You said Roman was called scatter gun and incompetent, neither of which were true. People were jealous and called him a crook but everyone admired what he did. He came in and took us to 2nd then back to back champions smashing records. What was scatter gun or incompetent about that?

Do we have a lack of memory on here?!

Just a plain old mixture of recency bias and confirmation bias, with a smattering of inaccurate anchoring for good measure.

Do you not understand what bashing and incompetence means? Read and don’t pick what you like from comments, you're making yourself a fool. id call you thick but you’re acting like it on purpose to as always, moan and complain when others have a different opinion to yours.

Give your head a wobble, I’m starting to think you have a slight crush on me 😂

The difference between our current owners is that for many years we were running purely on RA’s money, when that went away and we got taken over, the new owners had to figure out how to make up for that free injection of cash we were having for years. This model has been their way. Now it is finally bearing some fruits and posters on here still bash them and fail to recognize that our team is finally blooming. Give the owners their due flowers for a successful season.

That is the issue they have and what the real angst against me is. They love to moan and complain because their little well of bitterness is drying up. Im sure we will have the Shephard and his sheep shortly come out to herd again.

brave... really brave.

think we're going to struggle this season for top four again, (simply because of other clubs) but would love a trip to Wembley, would like the FA Cup too...

City

Arsenal

Liverpool

Chelsea/ Newcastle/ Villa/ United/ Spuds battling for fourth

got a sneaky suspicion Everton will be competitive this season for a Euro-places finish.

it’s a fair point about RA filling g the void, most are aware of this though that's why we loved him.

Clearlake have decided to fill that by wheeling and dealing players. Let’s hope it works. It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea though. But they had to do something I suppose. Better than massive ticket hikes which is small potatoes compared to the sums being thrown around in the transfer windows.Like I said, never going to be another RA.

I doubt anyone wants CFC to lose in order to win an argument but who knows in this day and age. People’s main concern is if it is done to the detriment of the team. e.g A few seasoned pros would improve the team, the young players progression etc. Sell ons is the only reason this hasn’t happened.

Most don’t give a sh*t about the boardroom P&L. Online fans spout that talk when they win nothing on the pitch. None of us want to become that. COYB.

I thought Roman got loads of criticism for how he ran Chelsea. Financial doping. Sacking managers. Buying big names who weren't going to adapt.

I also seem to remember we had quite a big clear out in those first 2-3 windows, despite us being a club that got top 4. Hasselbank sold when he still had another good year in him.

The fact is Chelsea always gets criticised and I'm a lot happier with this ownership than any alternative we might have had. If we'd ended up with Ratcliffe life would have been miserable. Instead we're now looking at a club that should compete for every honour.

Please tell me what about Roman’s first couple of years is synonymous with the above definition. If you haven’t noticed by the replies to the thread, the vast majority have a different opinion of your made up scenario.

Avoiding the question. Which is it, 35+ years old that’s moved to the US or lying? Not sure which is more embarrassing for you.

Resulting to personal digs because you can’t control yourself from throwing a tantrum. Slow down there tiger, this is even a new low for you. Talk to me again when you’ve taken a breather. Putting you on the corner for now because you are simply embarrassing yourself here… and you’re just seeking for my attention at this point. You’re not on my ignore list, i’ll be still reading how far you’ll go to try and get my attention/reaction. 🤭

Don't really agree with this. It looks to me that the top four clubs are all seriously strengthening and pushing it to the financial limit whereas nobody else seems to have got near. Spuds with just Kudus, Man Utd with Mbeumo and Cunha, which doesn't cover the main midfield issues. Newcastle can't seem to get anyone and now look like they're losing Isak. Both Brentford and Brighton seem to be gutting their teams.

I am not sure who is going to step out of the peloton tbh. The top 4 for me already look a bit of a closed shop unless any have horrendous injury seasons which some of us have suffered.

There shouldn’t be a top 4 race this season.

agree spuds villa newcastle and manu are the best of the rest but are looking at the minor places only, europa and conference.

I can’t see Forest having another season like they did, spurs are just spurs but villa and Newcastle fans must be royally pissed off watching us move the way we do.

They are fighting with one arm behind their backs. It’s a real shame… I mean I’m happy we are in that elite group too but I also see the injustice of this ffp bullsh*t.

Exactly what teams like Liverpool and Arsenal wanted…. They still resent us and city having a seat at their table. It’s an elitist set up which keeps the rich rich and the rest down and it needs changing IMHO.

Keeping Gibbs-White gives them more of a chance. Tough sh*t, Spurs.
