December 21, 2025Dec 21 Hey all! I'm not new to this forum but this is the first time I'm introducing myself! I became a fan of Chelsea Women when Ashley Lawrence, Kadeisha Buchanan, and Jessie Fleming were on the team. The last two springs I've come to see Chelsea play, the first time vs Arsenal aka Sockgate, and the second time for their amazing come from behind 3-0 victory over Man City in the Champions League. I'll be coming this March too to see them play Villa at Kingsmeadow for the first time, and for their home Champions League tie. I'm a big fan of my local team, AFC Toronto, as well as women's hockey. I'm hoping to go to Oslo for the champions league final regardless of whether Chelsea is there!
December 21, 2025Dec 21 Welcome, my niece in England is a season ticket holder for the women’s team and she often drags her dad (my brother) along so despite being in Canada I get lots of updates. He enjoys those games because he struggles to get tickets to see the guys play and I gave up trying to get any whenever I visited. It was so much easier to watch games when only 10,000 of us showed up to see the old division 1 struggles. Nowadays there’s only the occasional excursion south of the border to see a pre-season friendly. Thanks for supporting the women in person, it is still surprising that more people don’t go to watch them.

So now even though it's costing me an arm and a leg to shell out $40-$80 on average for women's sports games, I don't take it for granted and take every opportunity I can. I wish Chelsea was better supported, akin to what Arsenal draws, but I'm beyond excited every time I can go to the Megastore and buy infinite merch (although I wish there were more women's-specific items! Last year i got a poster and the year before I managed to find a women's Champions League t-shirt)

Can’t wait for the WC to start, the city and Mrs Chow will be in complete turmoil and probably reintroduce more bike lanes to get to the games as the traffic will be at a standstill and the LRT will still be a complete mess….so glad I got out many years ago.
