Howard Webb's PL Army

It's not just us. The PGMOL bias against southern teams who are threats to northern teams needs to be exposed. Last night the hated (for me) West Ham got the decisions against them. Even Arsenal have complaints. Just check how many PL referees are from Lancashire (incl. Merseyside) and Yorkshire and beyond. The only southern PL referee Tim Robinson (Sussex) is usually a 4th official or refereeing insignificant games.

No doubt the suspect Manchester referee Peter Bankes will be stopping off with 4th official Anthony Taylor (yeah right...) at somewhere like Newport Pagnell for a celebratory drink.

I'm.not having it . It's just Chelsea they've got it in for, everyone knows that . They give Arsenal everything. . I think I heard they meet up once a week to discuss how best to ruin our next game. .

Do you think that wasn’t a red card tonight?

Every team has decisions go against them. We just have a lot of idiots who play for us that don’t help themselves.

No I don't. Watch again. Wilson has his arm across Cucurella's throat. Initiated the shirt holding. Thereafter. Cucurella's holding was much more obvious. The initial foul was from Wilson.

The way Wilson went down, I think someone should do a wellness check on him later as his legs truly buckled from that arm pull.

But it does feel they have it in for us. Take Caicedos yellow against Bournemouth - didn’t touch him, first tackle, but reputation got a yellow.

I saw a close up angle on Twitter. Wilson has his arm across Cucurella, that's fine. Cucurella then grabs his arm, Wilson tugs at the top of Cucurella's shirt. At this point, it's just two players scrapping for ball, no foul by either player. Wilson then gets away from Cucurella and Cucurella pulls his arm back. This is where Cucurella f**ked up, he should just let him go and force him wider to make it more difficult to get a shot away.

However, the counter argument for both players is that you reap what you sow. Both Cucurella and Caicedo are dreadful cheats but we all grin because they are cheating on our behalf. If that pull had been on Cucurella in their box not only would he have similarly thrown himself to the floor but he probably would have the rolled himself into touch.

New guidance was announced before the start of the 25/26 season. I haven't seen this being implemented ? ?

'Referees have been encouraged to reduce the level of grappling between defenders and attackers at set-pieces. The new guidance, following feedback from clubs and players, is for more fouls to be awarded when a player impedes the movement of his opponent.

Webb, the former referee who now heads up the PGMOL, the body that manages match officials in England's professional leagues, said: "We have to identify those situations that do fall in line with the feedback that we had, that there are just a few too many examples of players clearly pulling people back, impacting their ability to move to the ball or some clear extreme actions are not being penalised. They're the ones I expect us to catch."

They are doing a great job aren't they?
