Posted July 25, 200717 yr I'm afraid to say it looks pretty tasty, although it does look a little bit like an airport terminal. [web]http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/newstadium/[/web]
July 25, 200717 yr I see they are going to try and replicate the Kop end! And it does look alright for a new stadium (Although it lacks history ) Most new stadiums lack character but that looks much better than SAY.... The Walkers (Leicester)...St Marys (Saints) etc. But you cant replicate the old style stadiums with concrete bowls. Its got big gaps around the side so the scum of merseyside can bunk in without a tickets again!!
July 25, 200717 yr I think it looks horrible. though I was surprised at the emirates (daft name) when I actually went... but... yeah... horrible. like a giant piece of melted plastic. with a grill stuck on it.
July 25, 200717 yr It doesn't seem - at a first glimpse - very interesting, other then the disputable "originality" wich is...at least slightly different from from the usual Emirates/Sidney olympic/Stadium of the light/Stade de France/etc aproach.
July 25, 200717 yr It makes me chuckle to see stadium designs that look as bloody stupid as that. So many people get sucked into thinking it looks fabulous purely on the grounds that it looks different (Gerrard has already fallen for it), take a drive around any major city and take a pike at some of the building built in the 1970s which were said to be original and 'cool' - now they just look ridiculous. That design, at least the outside of it, looks ridiculous to me already, never mind what it will look like in 20 years time. Anyway the bottom line is I can take a dump in the bogs at old Bovril Entrance or I can take a dump in Buckingham Palace but until I leave either place I am still in the company of sh*t!
July 25, 200717 yr Is it really only 60,000 seats capacity ? So to increase capacity by 18,000 from 42,000 to 60,000 seats it?s going to cost ?300 million quid ? That?s 16 million quid a seat ?? I smell a Leeds ???????.
July 25, 200717 yr Im dreading this. I can already imagine the sycophantic media love in over the end of Anfield/Kop etc. I want dates of completion and i want them quick, because f**k me sideways im leaving the country.
July 25, 200717 yr some in-depth photos at http://www.arsenal.vitalfootball.co.uk/ ... sp?a=74793 Also, have a look at the pictures on page 3! Oooh-errrr missis! Kev
July 25, 200717 yr I notice they have designed it so that 10,000 more can be accomodated with ease in the future if necessary. I suppose that is about as near as you will see to them admitting they have a problem with large amounts of unticketed fans showing up ;)

Oh please don't start, we had enough of that crap from the press over the magnificent Kop and how the crowd can make the difference because we have hiiiiiistory during the CL semi finals. It's enough to make you gag. I'm not sure what is worse, Liverpool fans banging on about their wondrous stadium and history or the press. To have endless articles on the end of the Kop would make me want to join you! That's why I would hate it if they finally got their act together and actually won the league - the press love in would be sickening, never mind it would have taken them about 20 years to do it again! MU, Spurs, Arsenal don't bother me but Liverpool
July 26, 200717 yr I understand that they are prepared to lose the Anfield name tag and will offer companies the chance to re-name the stadium at a cost of ?100 milloin. History or money?
