Posted August 30, 200717 yr Beckham expected to be out for 6 weeks Which means he'll miss the next couple of England qualifiers. Edit: In case anyone wondered, I'm not being even the tiniest bit sarcastic.
August 30, 200717 yr Well if McLaren isn't an idiot (what am I saying) then we should see exactly that. Joe on the left and SWP on the right.

August 30, 200717 yr Did anyone see the way he got injured? It's well known that a sure way of getting hurt in a tackle is to go in less committed than your opponent. Beckham just dangled his leg without going in hard to win the ball. If he'd gone in hard and low he'd not only have stood a better chance of winning the ball, his right knee woudn't have got twisted in contact. Anyone else remember him bottling a tackle in the 2002 world cup when he jumped over the ball instead of trying to win it? It led directly to a Brazil goal and England got knocked out. One-trick show-pony.

August 31, 200717 yr Anyone else remember him bottling a tackle in the 2002 world cup when he jumped over the ball instead of trying to win it? It led directly to a Brazil goal and England got knocked out. I remember it well, pity the press seemed to forget it and no-one mentions it at all. Imagine if that was our Frank I think they were too busy slating Seaman at the time though for 'that other goal'

Which funnily enough is what we should also be seeing down at the Bridge more often. Ok, I Know - in the words of Vic Reeves - "He wouldn't let it lie".....................
