Tough one with so many players being good tonight. Cole was brilliant when he came on so I could have gone with him. My vote however goes to Wayne Bridge who was great for 90 minutes.

Joey got my vote. Nobody really stood out for me prior to him coming on and I do find it quite concerning that we failed to score in what was such an open game, it doesn't bode well for the future at all and shows our reliance upon Drogba (and Lamps). I really do think the cheque book needs to be opened in the window.

Liverfool through in second place icon_sad.gif (although I did have a cheeky £2 on them winning 4-0 at 40/1 169.gif ). Am I right in thinking that teams from the same nation can't meet each other in the next round?

yes you are - you can't meet the other team from your group or a team from the same nation.

Nice one matey, thanks.

Anybody else watch the match on ITV4 and find it infuriating that they kept refering to the Liverfool match and showing footage of the goals. If I wanted to know how Liverpool were doing I'd be ruddy well watching them on ITV1 for f*cks sake! It winds me right up. It's was the same when we were struggling against Schalke and they kept on reporting on each of Liverpool's goals in their 8-0 victory over Besiktas, I just find it exasperating and it only seems to be ITV that do it actions1.gifactions1.gif

Shevchenko for me, looked quite sharp and am just disapointed he didn't get longer on the park to grab the goal that would've boosted his confidence with the game at the weekend coming up.

No mate, I actually make a point of not watching the build up to most Chelsea games now as I know that's it's going to be a load of bullsh*t and sniping.

Another tough one as Joey and Belletti both came on and looked good, thought Sheva was ok but still no real improvement, he looks like the worlds on his shoulders yet with a bit of luck could have scored and maybe played the second half,

Pizzaro still looks less likely than Sheva for me although I could understand trying him in mainly the Drogba role for a bit,

Bridgy I think nicked it for a good all round game bar one dodgy pass.

I think JT is starting to spray neat little passes about, his control for a CB is pretty tidy.

i am shocked i am the only one who picked pizarro...i expected some praise for the man after tonights performance...i guess i am the crazy one...he was buzzing tonight

As a striker Pizarro makes a not bad attacking midfielder. If he'd put away a couple of chances last night. At times he was shamefully wasteful. I voted Wayne Bridge but might have gone for Joe Cole if he'd been on from the beginning.

It was tough to pick anyone who really shone above anyone else last night. I went for JT because he was his usual solid self in defence but he also enjoyed himself going forward much more than normal. He showed that he really is a very skillful player with some lovely touches. Perhaps when Riccky is fit JT can play in behind Sheva? icon_lol.gif

Of course the actual man of the match was Canizares. I particularly liked his headed save from his own defender. Top class.

Spot on, mate. happy0034.gif
