Gone for Belletti. Difficult to choose today because there were many strong peformances. Alex is becoming a Chelsea legend for me. Had Berbatov and Keane in his pocket and he looks so relaxed when he plays.

Anelka is going to take us to another level and quickly become a Chelsea legend.

SWP has really raised his game this season.

Glad to see Joey cut out his rash challenges and has cut back on his recent increase of flicks which often give the ball away in dangerous places. Jose crushed his nuts for that so hopefully Avram's done the same.

Point to note for all the Avram baiters. Ballack, Sheva and SWP got serious abuse on this site last season yet it's been clear for all to see that all three have improved their games no end this season. Could it be that Avram is better skilled to bring the best out of these guys than Jose was? Just asking.

Maka followed closely by SWP.

Lot of good players on the park today though. And clap2.gif to Grant (or Clarkey more like it!) for showing the player a dictionary with the word, 'Pressing' underlined...

Belletti for me. This bloke is getting better and better.

Ballack, Joe Cole, Maka, SWP and Alex all played very, very well. And Le Sulk looked better than Sheva and Pizarro put together when he came on. Very mobile. Very dangerous.

It was a really hard choice this week, for all the right reasons.

Defensively we were excellent. When Spurs got on top a bit in the second half, after Taarabt came on, Ashley Cole defended against Lennon superbly. Maka reminded us of what he was like in our title winning seasons and I hope we see a lot more of him. Ballack was quiet yesterday, but SWP had a smashing game at inside right. Malouda was solid, but loses a lot of points for twice giving up on a chase back when Chimbonda was bombing forward. Joey had one of his best games for us this year. Not too much fancy stuff, pity his left foot isn't better as he created space for two or three shots cutting in from the right. Pizarro held it up well but never looked like scoring. Still one of his better performances. Anelka looked class and very nearly had a couple of goals.

Spurs were poor. Keane and Berbatov were marked out of the game by Maka and the defence. Their midfield duo of O'Hara and Boateng was just out of its depth. O'Hara a a super prospect but this was step up too far for him at the moment.

MOM for me was Alex. We have seen how hard an act JT is to replace - just ask Boulharouz and Ben Haim - but I really don't think we are missing him too much at the moment.
